Shouldn't the teaser also have a warning though?

Yeah, it should, but most of the tweets were acting as if it was a forgone conclusion that there would be no warning when it was aired during the Super Bowl.

How do we know the ad wouldn’t have a strobe warning upon airing? They’re inferring that from a teaser?

If the teaser contains strobe lighting without a warning, what makes you think there will suddenly be due dilligence for the full advert?

Its clearly not a priority for the team behind the advert.

Because a teaser isn’t being broadcast simultaneously to 100-200M people. Even if they don’t care enough to warn about the teaser, the liability risk for broadcasting something like that without a warning to that many people would be so colossal that I doubt they’d risk it.

Either way, I’m not saying that the teaser shouldn’t have a warning, but I just think folks misplaced blame here and treated the lack of warning in the advert when televised as a foregone conclusion.

How is it her fault tho? It’s the editor’s responsibility. And I dont think she said “dont put any warnings let’s make people have seizures” so maybe twitter needs to direct this to someone else :koons:

Look, in my experience. Teams that don't enshrine disability protections at every moment, won't do it at any moment unless bullied into it in advance or forced to by lawsuit after causing injury.

It really is shocking how many flashing lights are used in media with no warning. I honestly am shocked that the Perfect Illusion video doesn't have one. I don't know why this amount of flashes needs to be used in general. Even me, as a non-epileptic, finds it all a bit too much, Charli's recent lyric videos especially. It made all the words so hard to read so was pointless anyway. I feel sorry for how epileptics can't go to a concert to enjoy themselves like other fans. Unless you're going to see a ballad-focused act like Adele (and even then, who knows?) you won't be safe at any concert.

Some of her videos, particularly lyric videos, are straight up unwatchable because of the strobing.

Medical conditions aside I wish she would just get over it as an aesthetic because it’s obnoxious af

I don’t understand how she is still doing this. Everything she’s putting out now has insane flashes. It’s getting tiresome at this point.

It's called aesthetics, Berlin techno culture of all people being authentic af.

authentic is a style, not expression of individuality these days lol

Honestly the warning might not be enough.

The probability of catching you off guard increases but honestly serves more to protect the creators etc.

Anyone can be distracted , and you are when watching TV lets be real. Even on the internet, we scroll mindlessly. Sure this Is a cheap and Easy trick tò catch your attention.

But It only takes One persone to have a seizure. And the warning might come before the ad. If you're Midway? Or press on that exact moment. Just saying the warning tò me Is not enough. Just avoid It all together.

I don't have epilepsy and these things make me go Crazy as well. Probably does tò MOST people.
