We don’t overcome any of the deep challenges and existential crises the world faces without the US. Billionaires are controlling your country. They are hoarding all the resources. They are using and exploiting your personal data to train AI to replace your jobs. They are in control of traditional media, your social media and your algorithms which they use to engage in political propaganda and disinformation campaigns. One such billionaire, your president, is a violent rapist who is kidnapping foreign presidents, promising to bomb it’s neighbours and threatening to invade Greenland and enter into a military conflict with Europe. Domestically, and without opposition, he is dismantling US institutions, violating the US constitution and allowing extremist, fringe, nazi conspiracy theorists to tear apart Government departments and institutions that oppose him. High profile journalists are being arrested and violent, federal, paramilitary brown shirts are invading US States illegally breaking into homes, kidnapping children and shooting US citizens in the streets. He has lead a violent coup attempt against your Government previously and is currently undermining trust in future state and federal elections. The highest court in the land ceded judicial authority to the president and refuse to put restraints on him. Your congress and senate have completely bent the knee and will never impeach. ELECTING AN OUT OF TOUCH, CORPORATE, OLD-ESTABLISHMENT POLITICIAN AS PRESIDENT IS THE EQUIVALENT OF PUTTING A SINGLE BANDAID ON A GAPING HEAD WOUND. The United States is in a sharp decline and is voluntarily entering into a death spiral. If there even is a chance for the US anymore then it’s through radical reform, community outreach and disciplined civil disobedience. You genuinely need a strong and progressive leader, similar to Mamdani, that can also appeal to the other side because they can see how their lives would be improved. These are the voters that Democrats need to peel away and they CAN win these voters while still being and be pro Palestine, anti-oligarch, anti-racist pro LGBTQI+. No they are not a highly educated voting block but there isn’t much room to be snobby. Your country is in a crisis and you need to build a stronger coalition.
