Are Old Straight White Men At Grammys Voting Body The Downfall Of Gaga At The Awards?

So, there's an article about diversity in Grammys voting body from 2024. 

And from it, as of 2024, it is known of the current voting membership, 66% are men, 49% are white and 66% are over the age of 40.

Could these group of archaic people might have seen Gaga just too out there, and too gay, hence deemed unsafe to win a big 3 awards cos they don't want no heat from conservative side, hence often times giving it to a safe choice, aside from the winning artist' talent or lack there of whatsoever? (I.E; Adele, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, to name some)

I feel like republican music would be more nominated and awarded if that were the case, but perhaps it plays a part. Beyoncé has the most Grammys of all time so idk!

Given she was nominated for AOTY for her first 3 albums I think they absolutely appreciate her talent but maybe they're waiting for her true magnum opus to give her ROTY, SOTY, and AOTY the same night

I just feel the USA will never be fully on board with Gaga. They find her too polarising and demonic, for some reason.

If thats true an older white crowd at this stage would start to favour Gaga if anything (unless they were super conservative and dont like her stances). And tbh Mayhem may have won AOTY if it wasnt for the increase in latino voters this year the academy did to increase diversity

 

And tbh the fact shes already won 16 Grammys suggests voters do in fact like her. 

 

I dont think the evidence suggests the Grammys dont like her. Shes literally already #6 most awarded female of all time (as a tie). Do we even fathom how high that puts her up the ranking? That means of the thousands of nominated artists, and the big bames of all time u can consoder, Gaga has only 4 women with more Grammys than her

 

The proffessionals clearly acknowledge and appreciate Gagas talent. I think her loosing the large categories has largely been bad luck and competiton tbh, but if the voting community didnt like her she wouldnt be getting so mamy nominations and wins all the time

Well she’s had good material for SOTY, ROTY and AOTY, but never all at the same time. Either way, she has more than enough GRAMMYs

No.If that was the case, Beyonce probably wouldn't be as decorated with awards as she is. Kendrick wouldn't have any... Bad Bunny wouldn't have wo either. I just don't think that plays a factor at all. I think they fumble some award choices, and maybe there is some bias to some degree, but I dont think that matters as to why Gaga didn't win for Mayhem.

Thank you! I feel like I'm crazy for saying that The Fame Monster was probably the only time I think she was genuinely snubbed. I think Born This Way fairly lost to Adele, it was her year.

Me too but damn, I wish Born This Way had at least one Grammy 

Interscope didn’t even submit Bloody Mary for the 2024 GRAMMYs… it would’ve been ambitious, that’s for sure, but who knows, maybe it would’ve scored a win for Pop Solo or something, even if its chances were reaaaaaaally slim, it was worth trying

Yes it was eligible as it was released as a single in the right period.

Just like WILDFLOWER was nominated this year even though the album was released two years ago and was nominated last year

I just think they have issues with strong women doing innovative sounds and not being in.the box

Madonna never got any GF award while pushing albums like ROL, Confessions, Bedtime Story, Like A Prayer, Erotica. It says a lot
