The singer, who recently finished his Las Vegas residency, will release the project’s first single “Die for Me” this Friday. According to a release, “Konnakol” “expands on the sound fans first heard on his record breaking debut studio album ‘Mind of Mine.'” The album’s cover features a snow leopard, a symbol in South Asia that’s meant to convey how his heritage inspired the project. At the end of each Vegas show, he featured snow leopard imagery as an Easter egg. “It’s that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album,” said Zayn in a statement. “Konnakol in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper. It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed.
