lol I dont know why I was reminded of this but omg can people just **** off? It's fashion and it looked amazing. I literally rescue all my pets and spend so much time working as a volunteer for animals who deserve better- and I can rest assured that Gaga's outfits are not abuse against animals. PETA and other like-minded organizations need to stop picking celebrities to hate on and focus on the actual monstrous activities that take place.Ā

I'm sorry if it pisses anyone off but PETA pisses me off too much when they say sh*t like this because just put your money and energy where people are poaching endangered creatures and causing real problems to species/our biodiversity. I promise you its not from an archived outfit lmfao... stop using celebrities to promote the cause when that incident isn't applicable, because it makes your cause look worse. Focus on whats actually happening NOW against our endangered species.Ā

Edit: To add, I have rescued dogs, cats, snakes, birds, and turtles. I've also spent time helping to help re-home reptiles to sanctuaries and conservation centers where they can receive the best care. So I don't make this comment as a defensive fan of Gaga, but as someone who actively works with animals as much as possible and have grown sick of seeing pointless attacks. It is going to do absolutely nothing, and the energy is best spent just f*cking helping your cause instead of blasting people who aren't going to change their ways.Ā

I’m sure they did not just use the feathers for the outfit. Those ducks (or whatever bird it was) were probably served as yummy food on Christmas Eve too.Ā :traumatica:

With some delicious potatoes, sauce & maybe a salad. Gawd I’m hungry now.Ā :messga:

so let’s not pretend that most of the world is vegan. Many of us eat meat on a weekly if not almost daily basis.

While I'd never become a vegan - not only because I like meat but because I do believe environmentalism is much more helpful for the Earth's current state -, I think sacrificing animals for fashion is simply bad. Mostly because it doesn't serve a basic need (food) but a superfluous aspect of life (spectacle). So I get the criticism. Regardless to say I think we as a society need to reconsider the excessive meat consumption thanks to macro farms.

Back to the original topic, I don't blame Gaga for this. It's an archive design and, when time goes by, art is art no matter the context of it (to an extent, obviously). What matters is what's done from now on and I'm sure she wouldn't demand a designer to create a new piece out of feathers in this very year

Aren't the feathers made of tissue and not real ones?

Yeah I agree, but we don’t know if those feathers were a byproduct of the food industry even back in the day.Ā

Why are people pretending like leather products don't exist in everyday lives of almost everyone? How different is this dress anyways? I understand that animal cruelty is not justified for the sake of fashion but wearing an archived dress is not worth an outrage.
