Alright, diva. Thanks for speaking out but I think we're a little past calling representatives moving the needle now.

this ICE thing is so bizarre it feels like a dystopian reality came true, I’m really scared of what future holds next for us

I have to respect anyone for speaking out. In these times it’s actually dangerous to.

Even celebrities can get called out by the president and his administration and be put in danger.

She said something about it at yesterday’s show and expressed she is very upset about it, so she obviously doesn’t agree with what’s happening. Who’s to say she won’t say something on the red carpet for the Grammys?

She said the world is in chaos lol that's it nothing about ice or a genocide

And if she says anything more about the subject, I commend her for bravely speaking about it. If she doesn’t, it’d be disheartening to waste an opportunity where she could speak to the country.

I don’t want egg on my face for immediately jumping to the conclusion that she doesn’t care at all if the former happens. But that’s all I’ll say about this :enigma:

This administration has been so vengeful and evil, calling both ICE murder victims terrorists to shape the narrative when there is so much video evidence proving the opposite. Anyone speaking out against them at this point is definitely taking a risk which is why so few, comparatively, have spoken out. We are WAY past accusations of being performative now. This is not politics as usual this is a try crisis point where the right is taking a hard right into  non-consequences fascism and doing it through intimidation and fear, with support from the very highest office. We need anyone with a platform to speak up and inform their followers about the truth as the government is actively sowing misinformation and spreading lies. Speaking out publicly now is brave and necessary and we should applaud all public figures who are willing to do so. And Katy has always been outspoken about her politics in the past this isn’t a new pivot for her. Good for her. 👏👏👏

I applaud Katy and any public figure who speaks out.

Popstars are never under an obligation to speak out. Gaga might be accepting an award at the Grammys, and she might use that opportunity to speak out, and I hope she does. It would be a very public and effective way to do it. Then again she might not. To repeat, she is under no obligation.

LADY GAGA WHERE ARE YOU?! YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED IN A TIME LIKE THIS!

I thought yall said she doesn’t need to speak on things and she’s “probably doing things in silence” etc etc

Gaga's activism is what made me feel safe as a Uganda gay high school graduate back in 2011 when she released Born This Way. I wasn't "out out" but I met people who have given me support when I was freaking out about being disenfranchised.

Fast forward to 2026, can't believe the lack of activism from her. I understand there are things that are difficult to talk about while being on tour, etc, but we have people who are dying and being wrongfully incarcerated, and the lack of support makes this presidency even more baffling. Idk just my 2 cents. I'm reading posts saying that she is actually speaking up about it. So my nerves are a bit stable at the moment.
