PartySick 172,545
Bipartisan legislation to fund a broad swath of the government and avert a shutdown at the end of the week appeared to be in grave danger on Saturday, as key Senate Democrats vowed to oppose it after federal agents shot and killed a Minneapolis resident. The rapidly escalating opposition to the measure, which includes $64.4 billion for the Department of Homeland Security, including $10 billion for ICE, amplified the likelihood of a partial government shutdown at the end of the month. The legislation requires the support of Democrats to muster the 60 votes needed to avoid a filibuster and advance in the Senate. “Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the D.H.S. funding bill is included,” Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, said in a statement, calling what is unfolding in Minnesota “appalling” and “unacceptable in any American city.” X Whimsical bitch 6
PartySick 172,545
GOP in the Senate are immediately caving and trying to separate the DHS funding bill from the entire budget. Otherwise, it looks like the government is headed for another shutdown. Whimsical bitch 1

I have my doubts Yeah, looks like some folks need primary challenges STAT. Voters truly underestimate how effective that strategy is. Zohran Mamdani got Hochul to agree to statewide universal childcare for NY because she’s afraid of losing a primary challenge to her own Lt. Gov who’s challenging her from her left Put their feet to the fire, divas! It's honestly time to start raising hell the DNC is basically complicit in any lost elections and I'm getting a little tired of our victories being "we only lost by single digits! " Establishment Dems are jerking off to the latest polls that indicate a blue wave this year but they're ignoring a huge part of the data. Dems aren't gonna win big 'cause Americans trust them. Dems are gonna win big 'cause Americans hate Trump. To me, that's a crimson red flag for 2028 'cause voters just do not like or trust Democrats. So when they can no longer say "ew look how bad that orange guy is" what the f*ck are they gonna do? Whimsical bitch 2

Dems need to be focusing on the fact that, if they ran on more than just opposing Trump, they’d mop the floor with the GOP in 2026-2028, no question. Seems quite a few candidates are learning that but as long as the party's establishment continues to be stuck in the 1990s we're, frankly, f*cked Whimsical bitch

skaxboy 6,927
I just don’t understand how much of the public’s tax dollars get wasted on nonsense like this yet the pro-life crowd foams at the mouth for cuts to food aid, medical care, education, and other social services.
