Even prior to the giant media blow up with the surviving r kelly documentary, there was A LOT of **** out there about him. A lot of fans at the time even thought the collab was an odd choice. I think her apology message makes it very clear that she knew and made the collab with him on purpose. Zombieboyyy 123
Her jazz albums are great but she has to experiment more while doing jazz or it results in simple covers that no one cares about. Don't get me wrong I like her covers but her jazz is a little bit predictable
guythatplaydoctor 118
- Little Monsters (some of them) can be truly unkind, not only towards Gaga, but other fans too. Also, a lot of little monsters seem like hypocrites a lot of times. For example, "we want horror aesthetic, spooky, eerie vibes", then we got whole MAYHEM aesthetic that was heavily inspired by said aesthetics and vibes and retro horrors, we got Disease music video, MAYHEM album photoshoot alongside other photoshoots from era, The MAYHEM Ball yet still some are not happy. "we want dark pop Gaga back", then we got MAYHEM, literally epitome of dark pop, dark aesthetic and Gaga revisiting her roots in her own unique way... etc. etc. (It's okay to criticise art and artists, that's one of main stuff about art, but kindness doesn't hurt nobody). - Fans that only want dark pop Gaga are short minded and it makes me think "Do we even love the same woman?" - (some) Little Monsters don't know a thing about genres. - Gaga will never repeat herself, lower her artistic integrity and visions just for the sake of satisfying Little Monsters, gp, charts and critics. And that's one of the main reasons I love her. - Gaga exploring jazz and traditional ways of making and performing music is fundamental and one of the best things that happened to her as an artist and as a person. We must cherish and appreciate that side of her. - Gaga does not have a bad album. But also (here comes my hot take) she does not have a bad song either. She has some songs that may be a less of a quality compared to some of her biggest hits and most complex songs, but overall I've never heard bad Lady Gaga song. The Fame and The Fame Monster were among the albums that started trends in music during that period. Even today, all three have stood the test of time. I would say all three are emblematic of being ahead. That's literally the first time I ever see someone calling those 2 albums ahead of their time Yes exactly they started trends back then, and were immediately successful back then. So I personally wouldn't describe them as being ahead of their time then. While for Born This Way, many of the songs went viral over the last 3 years let's say. Meaning songs that people didn't enjoy back when it was released, are being enjoyed nowadays. That's how I define being ahead of its time but of course we can all have our own interpretations To me there is some negative connotation in being ahead of its time, people don't like it at first but like it a few years later. gagzus 16,890
Had he still been alive, Gaga 10000% would’ve collaborated with Michael Jackson either on one of his albums or on Born This Way/ARTPOP I feel

The album took almost a year to chart to its peak, and Gaga’s debut took almost a year to peak as well and now, The Fame is still the longest charting and highest selling electronic album of all time. So people who doubt it’s longevity and “ahead of its time” -ness are ignoring it on purpose I find. Those 2 albums are the only albums bar ARTPOP she’s put out that look forward instead of back. elegidadedios 2,676
Fans who claim Bad Romance is her best song/The Fame Monster is her best album don't really like her as an artist in full, just the idea of her defying rules 16-17 years ago. They just love cunty Gaga, not Lady Gaga

I think there are some good ideas in there that are shoddily executed and I think Gaga is severely under utilized, tbh We have forgotten our public MANNERS

Also, cohessive eras have never been a Gaga thing up to Mayhem which is her most cohessive era visually and thematically since The Fame The difference between the retro sounds of The Fame or BTW and Mayhem is that her older 70s/80s inspired songs is that the older ones sounded more inspired by that sound and had the gagaisms added to make them unique where as the ones on Mayhem were too similar/were almost a ripoff to the sounds she was inspired by (Michael Jackson,Prince,Bowie, 80s in general) and didn't have that original twist.
