FfFfFfFF 58,083
The announcement came hours after Trump's Davos speech, where repeated the US needed Greenland for national and global security, and said NATO members they could agree to US control and "we'll be very appreciative." US President Donald Trump announced late Wednesday he would not impose tariffs on eight European nations scheduled to take effect on 1 February, citing progress in talks with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte on Greenland in Davos. Trump said the two leaders reached "the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland" during what he described as productive discussions, and declared the potential agreement would benefit the US and all NATO members. Phoenix Fields 2,714
I knew this would happen. He never had any intentions of invading Greenland. He asked for the moon and made them think he was gonna take it, so he could get the stars (what he really wanted all along) but they would never have agreed to initially had he asked. Classic narcissist negotiation tactic. Follow me on TikTok @ imphoenixfields
Ayesha Erotica 1,924
As always, Trump is making maximalist extreme demands and threats, simply to achieve smaller goals more easily and quickly, and the EU and Denmark are falling for it. Now the US is getting even more rights over Greenland, even though they already had sufficiently rights in the post WW2 treaty. Trump has now gotten more than what was initially the case. The Europeans will probably end up bearing the brunt of the increased defense spending; they are now paying 5% instead of 2% of their budget to NATO's rearmament efforts. Social programs will be the ones to be neglected. Your boyfriend comes over with a bit of gun oil Says he wants to step on new soil

Cavadour 2,704
His hot-and-cold technique is getting really tiresome. Trump is not a president, he is a financier in decline who's only interest is lining his pockets and those of his cronies as much as possible before he has to leave office, if he makes it that far. That's the only thing he really knows, apart from shaking his big butt on a golf course and putting his slimy hand in the girls' basket. Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

Classic narcissist negotiation tactic. The US already had everything they could have wanted since April 1951. Trump chickened out as he always does. He's a senil, demented man, luckily feeling that his time is coming to a close, clinging desperately onto relevancy. He has no masterplan, he has no constant goals other than his hyper fixation on capital, because he still thinks wealth is everything, discarding ✨soft power✨. We should stop sane washing this 80y/o farting senior. Morphine Prince 109,654
I’m not convinced much was achieved honestly. It’s always the same formula. Create a problem and then create a “solution” to the problem you created. These tactics are fleeting and will isolate the US even more.

Rutte has zero authority or power to make any semblance of a deal over Greenland through his role. Trump's either chatting **** or he's been outplayed without realising it. Lord Mayhem 3,424
Trump has as much of a deal as the one he made with Putin in Alaska...nothing
Magui 2,654
He literally plays with peoples life, jokes with other countries, plus insults them and lays out his arrogance over everything and everyone . The amount of stress and pressure he puts on Greenlanders, literally Danes assembly troops to go there. I'm afraid and tired of this man... And unfortunately he is just starting, it's been a year since he was elected.
Bronco 24,897
So Rutte's version of events is that he hasn't discussed Danish sovereignty over Greenland in this meeting Trump says they agreed a framework for US ownership at lol The Danish PM has also said that Rutte's confirmed with him that there was no negotiation/discussion over this either.
