Lady Gaga 2009

It's far from my favorite song of his but I'm here for it pushing The Fate of Ophelia out of #1 :vegas:

TOTAL MAYHEM out March 2026

Me neither, I’ve seen songs go #1 or be in the top 10 that I’ve NEVER heard in my life. I understand when it’s songs like by Taylor Swift and such because I hear them EVERYWHERE like in adverts on tv, on the radio, they get auto play on Spotify etc

But like that song Ordinary I think it was called, it was #1 for weeks and I’d never heard of it ever nor have I still ever heard it and yet it was number 1. But Abracadabra was everywhere, had massive streaming numbers, was one of the most recognisable hits of 2025, had the push of DWAS as well and yet… nothing :rip: I swear billboard makes **** up out their ass

It’s a predictable mathematical formula.

Most of labels care about the formula and getting it to #1 and not about the song itself.

For a #1 debut a huge part makes radio play. Labels pay “promoters” who “promote” the songs to radio stations the first week ( also known as payola).
For example Brunos song got as much airplay in the first week as Abracadabra in 2 months or even more.

And as mentioned before there’s always promotional tools for Spotify and other streaming services

Still better and more fun than other songs at #1 for like 10 weeks.

At least he won't need to modify his lead single

Honestly, both Ophelia and I Just Might are generic, and Ophelia sounds more interesting to me than Bruno’s single which sounds exactly like past 10 years of his career :ohwell:

Lord Mayhem

Yet it baffles me Abracadabra...arguably one of the biggest songs of the year barely cracked Top 50 :triggered:

jacs vs looser

This is partly due to Billboard's recent rule change which weights streams more heavily. (Not to diminish his accomplishment, just to put into perspective why this is the first time he debuts at no 1)
