Point being is that ns shade to Ga but Requiem is about the most common “dark” classical music reference people make. But Total Mayhem would also probably only add a few tracks and wed probably only get 1 single (2 if were lucky) so it would be a shorter era and less new content LG8 would be more likely to be a full proper era (even if shorter than Mayhem) and Id be here for it! I feel like the era gave her a strong enough foothold to be able to do that, and I’d love to see what happens if she dropped the ‘but make it pop’ aspect. Joanne was folk/country leaning, but make it pop. Chromatica was house leaning, but make it pop. I think both records, while I adore them each in their own way, would’ve been more elevated without trying to put them through a trendy, pop music filter. Mayhem feels like the first time in a while she’s completely submitted to a specific kind of music even though it has a blend of genres.
