nATAH 52,593
iTunes fest should have happened AFTER the album that + all those long ass snippets were a mistake mother, what must i do? 2 1
RochesterJoannster 3,654
1. Although it was her worst era in terms of negativity in the press/among the public, much of that damage actually occurred during the BTW era. 2. Applause is one of the weakest tracks on the album. 3. MANiCURE is f*cking great.
princedeeblebleble 2,382
I don't care what anyone says, but *that* feature on DWYW completely destroyed the song.. from the vocals and really shitty lyrics, like the albim version was an instant skip for me and I'm so happy she officially released the Xtina version (thought the solo one is my fave). I ****ing LOVE Fashion! Its such a gorgeous statement piece on the love of fashion and transformation. Also Donatella was gorge. And I don't get to he hate it gets. Honestly most of the final versions are better than the demos, minus Aura, those screams were EVERYTHING! Manicure, Sexxx dreams, Swine were all really well rounded and finished up at the end. Thought i do wish she kept IWBWY instead of Dope. But thank the net gods for leaks. The ArtRave costumes were so atrocious.. but I do generally hate really colourful sfuff.. so yea haha but I did enjoy the chaos of her outfits during the era and she looked so beautiful after trying so hard to look creepy for most the BTW era I still wish they used the first promo image as the cover and the whole Inez and Vinoodh shoot in the booklet or as loke the booklet thing that she did for Chromatica. The sculpture thing and behind were cool, but fade compared ro that shoot. Also I kinda wish she did the GUY mini vid as the lead single moment. Like start the era with the shakup, go to applause and then DWUW, solo (thought I am aware that couldn't happen since she parted ways with her then manager after the initial single 😅)

Anderson123 40,184
Venus and Gypsy are incredibly overrated. Applause and Do What U Want were truly the only possible hits. Dope is still the gem on this album. Swine is a highlight. Brooklyn Nights deserved to be on ARTPOP more than Donatella and maybe Fashion! and Manicure but it's nice that these last 2 songs have some variety to the sound of the album. Unpopular opinion: Before Andrew Watt and Cirkut, DJ White Shadow had been the most versatile producer she had worked with and deserves more praise for the great work he did with Gaga, given the mess that was going on behind the scenes and how they almost quit making it.
gothicdream 39,633
JnD is a bangerrrr Swine is one of the best on the album
Delulu Rogers 7,524
Aura album version is better than the demo, but would do horrible as a single. Venus is overrated and the lyrics are cringe. Dope is so raw and emotional idk the hate it gets. Her most ambitious and conceptual album that was overshadowed by her own mental state and negative press. SevenWonder 4,527
ARTPOP, Gypsy, Aura, Applause and DWUW are as good as the best five songs on any Gaga album. Venus and Dope are also great, great songs. The worst songs are really, really bad. I won't list them here to save feelings.
Ivy 13,190
It's one of her best albums It's more cohesive than BTW Brooklyn Nights didn't really fit on the album, despite me wishing it was there the meow in zombieboy

Thank you! Finally someone with some sense! His verse is awful. No argument. DWUW plays with sexual metaphors but it's actually about the press and Gaga protecting her worth from them. But he just made his verse all about sex and partying and totally missed the actual theme of the song, not to mention basic-af childish lyrics. I'm beyond baffled that no one questioned this at the time. Perhaps they all just had dollar signs in their eyes because he was a A List celebrity feature idk. The Xtina version is fun but it becomes a shouting match between them and it's not produced well. Plus their voices are too similar imo and don't compliment each other. The solo version is near perfection and should've been the official release on the album. Edited January 12 by Gorehound I'm fine, Ta

The fact that his character in the song is so obsessed with his own gratification that he doesn’t care about her feelings works from the POV of it being about sexual abuse and about the exploitation of the media. Oh I never thought about it that way But I still don't feel he's necessary for the song. It's lovely as it is solo Edited January 12 by Gorehound I'm fine, Ta
Ladle Ghoulash 33,400
@imogen2133if you like the pseudo-philosophical, ad hoc gobbledegook that is the supposed “concept” of ARTPOP, that’s your prerogative and I’m sorry if clocking it’s conceptual incoherence and lack of relation to the music triggered you, sister We have forgotten our public MANNERS
