I mean you… could do if you can back it up, a queen with 10+ years of experience is gonna know more and be better than one who’s done it for 2 years that’s just a fact else you’d have nowhere to grow from. Violet is better now than she was then, so is Aquaria etc because they’ve lived a life, had the experience and what not. A prime example is when they cast Scaredy Kat like that was such stunt casting because a bedroom queen with horrid drag skills was cast over someone like RuJazzle or Mary Mac in the UK who applied for the OG season just because they wanted to see how it played out  and she was terrible, she’s better now though but still not that amazing.

Nobody can tell me that VIOLET or PEARL were actually better than Ginger or Kennedy at drag. Violet won because they wanted to see a young person influenced by drag race win drag race at the time, and she outright said Pearl was only kept around for trauma storyline and bc she was attractive out of drag .
 

That example alone shows you how they judge the show now, gone are the days of the veteran who may have been a bit of a villain winning from the early days, there’s so many good drag queens with years of experience and who are so brilliant at drag that lost because of storyline- Chad & Phi Phi for example were light years ahead of She Who Must Not Be Named, as was Roxxxy over Jinkx and Alaska at the time (and as she was over Angeria too in All Stars), the only season I’ve seen a veteran lose where I think it was deserved was S8 with Derrick because Bob was an absolute force of nature. And has only gotten better. I think the UK has never had a winner I’ve agreed with since Viv really.
