The Dead Dance The first verse is boring and takes so long to get going, then the chorus hits and it's just "That's it?!?!" Then the WHEN YOU KILLED ME INSIDE hits and it's like FINALLY... Then it goes back to the Dancin until I'm dead and it's like oh no, that's the hook they focused on. The second verse is the best part of the song IMO, it punches live and really leads into the prechorus with the appropriate velocity that the drawn out "this goodbye" portion doesn't feel like it's dragging. But then again that momentum gets squashed by the dud of a chorus that is the 'Dancin until I'm dead' part. The bridge is fabulous I have no complaints. It will forever remind me of Charlie Kirk's assassination and I'll always chuckle. The Dead Dance jumpscares were hilarious I loved every one of them, especially the one right before the off with her head during poker face. The lyrics pack an interestingly personal punch for me too. One of those magical right time, right place moments I experience strangely often with her music. There’s something comforting in it too where it reminds me how there’s a Gaga song for so many different occasions, and this one is when I want to feel silly and dance out some feelings.
