Her comment made sense for Perry& Kesha since their tunes then were typical Dr Puke/Martin productions ( check California Gurls and Tiktok mashup showing it was the same recipe basically ).

Also Loud contains some of the typical pop of the time tho. 2 of the singles including the lead had Sandy Vee productions, the Guy who just had produced... Firework by Katy Perry.

this is not a shade though, she didn’t imply Kesha’s or Gaga’s music was generic, she meant her new songs were so intrinsically related to her persona, that no one else could replicate it and she was right, the music from Loud screams Rihanna all over it
