i mean shes worth hundreds of millions so shes not exactly broke............

whats the difference between 300 million and a billion. some reports show her worth 900 mil rn.... so idk

i wish she didnt become a billionaire but im not mad at her for making money moves to ensure her whole family is set for life. billionaires arent ideal either but atleast gaga is insanely talented and deserves it over anyone

Sorry but I want her to be a billionaire. I want her to have all the money she can have. Sorry! She's a once in many lifetimes talent. She's changed the world, she's changed the tenor of my life by her art; take my money Gaga! Take all the money!

Do I support the evils of extreme capitalism in theory? No. But I don't think Gaga is the one making this system corrupt and evil.  I think a lot of that happens in DC and in corporate offices.

Gaga? Making art? Giving us a year like she just did? Be a billionaire Gaga! Take my money! I want you to have it!

She’s a millionaire already with an ongoing successful career, this is expected and we still chose to stay here. So in terms of eating the rich, she’s been eligible enough to be criticized already, I wont leave for a few more zeros :poot:

For a long time I've considered the most valuable thing about her to be her fanbase anyway. I love the Monster community, she's just the catalyst to it.

Right, like idk the fun on this site often supersedes the output from her imo. Music is still great, love mayhem, but this site is a fun, living breathing mess. I probably would be less tapped into her generally if it wasn’t fun to come on here still

I met some of my best friends because of Gaga. My life has an entirely different trajectory than it would have and I have a graspable, tangible freedom to own. I'll always be grateful to her for that.

But I won't simp for anyone that disgustingly rich, idc who it is, because it's just not an ethical fortune.

Around several hundred million my side eye gets more and more intense but I draw the line at that extra zero.

Basically same here.

i feel like I don’t really need to be deeply engaged with someone that rich? Like even ethics aside (I know it’s important but bear with me lol), someone that rich quite plainly doesn’t *need* my coin or attention hahahahaha I hopped on the Gaga train very very early bc I was like I want her to succeed! She needs this! And at the time she kinda did. I was also a teenager lol

I feel like as a full adult you can step back and assess where you put your time and energy better and there’s other places that actually need both of those that I’m passionate about. If the music hits I’ll listen, sure, but what does stanning an incomprehensible amount of money do for me and my life? Just kind of silly behavior in addition to morally suspect

It's so funny people going hard against the idea of a billionaire popstar but then they become soft and create excuses for the politicians left or right that keep allowing it to happen

Very genuine question and not a dig or anything but WHY are you still online discussing her or participating still then if you don’t even have anything to do with her career anymore?

Like I said not a dig just interested

Not everything we do brings her more money, I can still appreciate and discuss her art without giving her more money. I also want her to remain successful, that doesn’t mean I want her to get even richer.

Even I, a financially poor person, give like half of my money to people who need it more than I do. Not that I demand that from everyone cause I don’t think it’s very reasonable from people like me to do that, but from rich people? I think it’s a shame when someone has like $100k or more in their pocket for their personal pleasure.

I’ve actually just watched an interview from 2011 where the reporter asks Gaga if she’d spend millions on a music video and she said “I think nothing’s too much for art, but I’d give it to charity before spending it on a music video” and now we don’t even get to see those millions in music videos but we see her Tesla and company. :deadbanana:

I still love Gaga to death as an artist and as a strong inspiring open-minded person, but I think like most celebs, her relationship with money is quite fvcked.

Is it the music not the bling? Or is it the bling not the music?

we celebrate success, and don’t want her to fail - but then we don’t want her to be TOO successful.

candidly, all I care about is that she keeps making music and that it’s good.

Will I still stream her music? If its good.

Will I care about her as a person? Not in the slightest

i mean reports state shes worth 300+ rn

does it make a difference if she passes 1 billion.

300 million is more than anyone would ever need to survive - should we have stopped stanning years ago when she hit that threshold?

It absolutely makes a difference to the type of person she is.

No one with personal values I align with and support would become a billionaire. Achieving that kind of personal wealth can only be done through benefitting from exploitation and oppression.

I'm fully in agreement with @PartySick that her increasing wealth is very clearly changing how she behaves. And I ain't here for it.

i mean being worth 300 million can also only be done by exploitation and oppression, **** anything over 10 million means u have to exploit others and the system

Yeah, I think social/political studies people put the "this person is out of touch completely" limit around 300 million these days. That's the amount of money where consequences disappear and you can't relate to real people anymore.

Billionaire status just seemed like the cleaner break to me but I side-eye anyone who's ultra wealthy until I have real contempt for them.

And beyond that, KEEPING that kind of fortune while millions struggle just to survive is purely sociopathic, antisocial, and heartless.

You can't idolize someone like that.

You can like the music, you can even go to the shows, but that celebrity is no longer someone to look up to.
