David Ward 9,456
Gaga’s power has always come from risk, discomfort, and speaking from the margins. Extreme wealth pulls an artist into the systems they once challenged. At that level, art gets filtered through brands, lawyers, and profit protection. Risk becomes a liability. Activism risks turning symbolic instead of disruptive and fans shift from community to consumers. Edited January 4 by David Ward

vanna shintuyu 11,322
If I can stick with her through Joanne & Chromatica, I don't see why this would change anything. If she did, I just wouldn't feel any guilt about pirating anything. Allegedly.

She sells music and live performances, sure, she can say it art or whatever, and yes, her music touched me in higher level, but in the end she still gets paid from this, aside from her make up line, champagne, luxury watches, migraine pills, among others, which I mostly try to support by purchasing them, so yes. REALITY 78,221
I don't see how that would change anything tbh. She's already extremely wealthy. If you support her now, supporting her if/when she becomes a billionaire shouldn't make a difference. I guess the argument is that "there are no ethical billionaires," but like...do y'all think getting to be as wealthy as she is right now is ethical either?? Guille 1,580
Yes. We have seen what she stands for. She has been a philanthropist since the very beginning, she has stood against racism, homophobia, sexism, sexual assault, even Trump (even though lately she has been quiet, which I can guess why)... she has given so much visibility to the importance of mental health. She is just the right deal, if anyone should become a billionaire, it should be Gaga. We wish all of them billionaires were like her.

Roughhouse Dandy 12,358
I don't support the hoarding of money, but on the ladder of money hoarders the artists are on a low rung of billionaires to worry about. I'll focus that energy on the almost trillionaires and billionaires that make money off of killing individuals. After they're taken care of we can light our pitchforks for the ones who made it primarily sharing their art. Besides, I'm a Beyoncé enjoyer. This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss. 1 1
Lucas 28,691
In the way that I'll still listen to her music, watch her music videos, go to concerts, yes. But I never and will never support her other businesses and money-hungry moves. 1
