PartySick 173,473
I love that my f*ckass country just believes it has the right and ability to overthrow regimes or leaders from whatever nation it pleases just 'cause they want to or they believe we'll benefit from it. Did 20 years of accomplishing nothing in the Middle East, other than immeasurable suffering for the people there, really teach us nothing? I knew exactly what this would be the second Trump referred to Venezuelan cocaine as a "chemical weapon of mass destruction". Literally the same justification, the same lie, as the Iraq invasion. Maduro is not a good man, the Venezuelan government is corrupt, but does that give the US the right to just stomp on other nations' sovereignty again and again? This country is f*cked. The question is how far are we gonna go this time? Boots on the ground in South America? Sending people's families to overthrow a military government and not even pretending it's for a good cause? What an infuriating and embarrassing time to be an American. Whimsical bitch 7 1

Sneaky Oliver 23,028
I’m scared, I think I can speak for everyone in LATAM, we grow up watching the news of wars happening like in Middle East or something and we would never imagine a war happening here in South America I hate Trump, I hate the dynamics of the world we’re living in right now Edited January 3 by Sneaky Oliver 3 2

What an infuriating and embarrassing time to be an American. eh, Biden did a lot of mistakes with Venezuela as well.. what is happening right now is also on him. His policy was a failure and his late exit did a lot of damage because everyone, from Maduro to Netanyahu, waited for him to fall and just hand Trump the presidency. And if I'm honest, I don't think that Kamala or any other Dem would make things better.. because the US politicians just can't resist the urge and temptation to fix everything, to be the savior, for the bad or for the good, depending on which political side you are. I mean, right now, Trump thinks that he does something good and he's once again the Messiah of the American people and the whole damned world. Emvee 8,846
Everyone with a brain knows this has nothing to do with drugs or the wellbeing of Venezuelans. So the obvious conclusion is this, if you have valuable natural resources get nuclear weapons to protect them. The far right (and other authoritarian regimes) have brought us closer to a nuclear apocalypse. 1
INFECTED 1,288
Here in Venezuela we are so happy about the capture of Maduro. That man is one of the worst things that has ever happened to my country. In 2017, when his regime murdered many young people who were protesting against his horrible government, he appeared on TV dancing, laughing, and acting as if nothing was happening, several times while parents lost their children. So I hope he rots in jail. 13 5

Sending people's families to overthrow a military government and not even pretending it's for a good cause? Initial speculation is Maduro got sold out from the inside. If true, America will likely achieve its obvious goal of controlling the oil reserves with minimal conflict and likely zero direct conflict. The far right (and other authoritarian regimes) have brought us closer to a nuclear apocalypse. This is just hyperbole. The funds and resources need to obtain independent nuclear weapons are beyond the majority of the world nations. The 3 major nuclear nations that exist aren't at war they are actively collaborating on establishing a hegemony.
