I second guess everything I see now. It shouldn't be like that.

AI can be useful for some things like admin and doing tasks more efficiently (I was selling a bunch of games, took a photo of the stack and asked it to list them all - amazing ) but AI 'art' etc can absolutely **** off.

Unless it's a joke like @River making a Vaseline Dion

I mean I don’t think these are particularly good examples, they all look very “AI” to me pretty immediately, but there are times I’ve seen AI-generated stuff online and it’s been very, very convincing. It’s scary to think how good it will be in the near future, including videos, and especiallyx2 after the algorithms parse through the entire internet and learn everything we’ve ever done online as a society as a basis for creating all those images

Yes, I’m so disturbed now that Grok has been creating naked/p0rn content using the images from users… I mean it can NOT get worse than that, we’ve reached a new level when it comes to dehumanizing people

I have never and never will generate an AI image - it baffles me people have any interest in doing so. The internet is already over-populated with so much content for people to enjoy, why would you want to create more that has absolutely no meaning and is not based in any reality? 

I don’t understand why people don’t pause and ask themselves before doing it, “do I really need this?” and if so, “should I not pay someone to make it?”

I swear we all have pea brains and it scares me how willingly everyone a) wants to never know if anything online is genuine and b) walk themselves towards climate destruction and mass unemployment. It’s so shocking no government has any real laws and just proves society is all being run by big tech companies

I don't think we've reached the point where AI is so realistic it's scary. 

Its more like its at that 2010 era of video gaming where it was the most realistic it had ever been, but was still only at that like 60/70% territory just before it the uncanny valley territory. 

We're still seeing basic irregularities in AI - blurriness, odd choices of camera focus, synthetic and nonnatural lighting, weird shadow behaviour, limited references to draw from (its the exact same picture of Britney its using for her face in every picture) etc.

Generative AI is starting to hit the uncanny valley stage on the high performing models. But as most animation software has shown thus far it is near impossible to break out of the uncanny valley into actual photorealism. Gaming has taken nearly 2 decades to do it, and its now only possible on the most high end and optimised PC set ups. And even then its so demanding on hardware that it cannot consistently deliver realism without massive tech issues.

AI is growing quickly. But this geneative AI isn't going to last much longer in the current form before the bubble bursts. Its a vanity project. There's a reason why investors and global supply chains are investing in AI but pulling out if generative AI. Because the real AI product that has potential and is already hitting the streets is Agentic AI.

This advancement will far exceed the impact of the PC, the internet, or the smartphone, as AI expedites research and data processing a million times faster. This creates a domino effect across all branches of science and technology.

AI is ****ed if the data architecture is ****. And we are ages away from AI being able to build & maintain data architecture. 

Meanwhile, agentic AI is already capable of building websites, CRMs etc just by being given good prompts. 

There's a big reality check hitting the graduate tech job market because everyone focused on learning coding and development but didn't learn data analytics and management.

I've been saying for a while that the trump administration are stalling on the epstein files just long enough until AI becomes so good they can just call "that's AI" on anything that is suspicious. A lot of celebs likenesses are blocked on major AI but I keep seeing heaps of AI trump pics, and I wonder if he's allowed his likeness on purpose so people get used to not knowing the difference

What kills me is that all the short form platforms are like 75% ai videos now and the comments are full of people who think it’s real. The internet isn’t even used primarily to interact with other people anymore, it’s used to extract information out of you, get you to buy things, and get you to interact with fake content. It’s basically the matrix

Said it on here before, but I hate AI with every fiber of my being. I don't think it's "fun" or "cute". The novelty of it is lost on me. All I see is the negative. 

I just think it's going to ruin really the one (maybe the only) thing I consistently love about humanity - art.
