Conversely, the ARTPOP cover taints the music for me.

I actually hold the music in higher regard while listening to it & looking at this image

I'm very stubbornly superficial though, & sometimes her sensibilities/creative choices drive me crazy lol

I feel like this is achieved with the face closeup. It's unnerving & un-beautiful, without being silly.

Yeah ARTPOP is a bit of a different story. The album cover works with the concept but the concept itself doesn't necessarily speak to the music. Still love the OG cover, but it's true that it is as pretentious as the idea itself, and the fact that it's made by Jeff Koons only adds to that. In a way the fact that it's a mess is a good representation of the album and era looking back
