The album’s really great but to me, the first three (or four) tracks sound grand and strong, while most of the rest of the album sounds much more little/shy/vulnerable, whether it’s sonically or lyrically (or both). No other artist has been able to replicate that success, solo or as a collab, so of course nothing she releases is going to match that songs success. A little song called Always Remember Us This Way is proof of that! At least Debra had a full stable run and ended up fairly high on the 2025 Hot 100 Year-End list for a song that barely entered the top 20. At this point it’s just on its way to being another one of her legendary staple songs.
