My bad I wasn't talking about you, just the overall reaction from other members I see here (Killah, Don't Call Tonight, ballads).

And yes, I never really got the hype from Shadow of a Man. Even How Bad Do U Want Me has grown on me and I listen to that more now.

This is so funny. I am a lyrics person too. But I really only care about the verses and/or bridge. I think because that's where most of the "story" takes place. 

To contrast, I just want the chorus to hit me emotionally, sonically, etc., as they pay off the story that the verses have set up.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good lyric in the chorus too. But it's the verses that hook me. 

And, for me, the verses of Lovedrug are maybe the strongest on the entire album.

This and your other comment about the first 7 tracks being so superior and vastly different from the tracks that follow is what keeps MAYHEM below ARTPOP for me as an entire project/album. ARTPOP, at least, maintains it's vibe more (minus Dope). 

I enjoy *something* about every song on MAYHEM, but the latter half runs out of steam imo after a huge build up and strong back-to-back run.

Idk it kinda suffers from the  Joanne/Chromatica curse where they are great catchy songs, but it misses that extra oomph that would make it an "it can only be done by Gaga" thing like we get in Disease, Abra, Killah, Zombieboy, Vanish etc.

It took me a long time to enjoy it, but last month I came to a moment when I started to crave this song. I've even had it on loop for hours a few times! While I still think that the chorus is rather weak, verses are really nice, and the bridge was a pure extasy since the first listen

That's crazy people think LoveDrug and Don't Call Tonight are filler songs lol. They are def in my top 5 on the album.
