NUTELLA 15,438
I think most people would agree that MAYHEM’s "bottom 3" songs are Blade Of Grass, The Beast & Killah… but WHY do so many people dislike Don’t Call Tonight? It is not the first MAYHEM song I reach for but, every time it comes on shuffle, I find myself totally hooked. Harmless at worst & wonderful at best. Pleasant-sounding verses, Tina Turner chorus, vocoder bridge & meaningful lyrics (most likely about her complicated relationship with her father). It is soulful & certainly stronger than a “filler" track. If you are one of the people afflicted with DCT-aversion, would you please explain your reasoning? 1 2 1
Alvitr 1,265
Better than HBDUWM atleast LG8 out soon 1
Lucas 28,551
I personally don't enjoy this song (as well as HBDYWM and LD) because they break the flow of the album. You start with these 7 very strong dark songs and then you move on to 3 more generic songs that even Taylor could sing...
Lextyr97 20,334
Mayhem is so phenomenal. It’s the gift of an album that keeps on giving. HBDUWM was bottom of the barrel for me and now I ****ing LOVE. IT. Every song is an absolute banger. Bottom 3 for me is probably Blade of Grass (dead last), LoveDrug, and The Dead Dance. What’s crazy is all three are fantastic songs still. Every song is just so good. I’m obsessed 1

Once you get over the 5 stages of grief in regards to Gaga being the artist of those three songs, you start loving them and realizing how excellent they actually are. Don’t Call Tonight is bloody amazing. A song about her MAGA ass dad
GAGASEXUAL 3,880
The Beast is one of her best songs ever, whoever hates that song must go get their ears checked. That song also turned some of my friends who doesn't really like Gaga into fans. On the other hand, Don't Call Tonight is like a stain on the album. It's nothing but a weak filler that sounds like an Ava Max reject. Also LoveDrug. Edited December 30, 2025 by GAGASEXUAL 1
Frey 66
Idk I don’t hate it either, do skip sometimes but majority will just continue bopping when it comes on.. As to why I feel it’s not a popular nor bottom tier song is almost like it is akin to bad kids or Fun tonight. Like It’s just one of those ‘typical/cheesy’ Gaga songs? Idrk how else to describe it bc it’s sorta more a vibe thing? (Plus im Mary Jane holland out rn) Frey as in free b*tch baby

Her versions of LD & DCT would be devoid of all the vocal thrill that LG brings to them
dynamite 62,115
I didn't like it at first because it seemed so basic but it grew on me. The bridge is great Edited December 30, 2025 by dynamite Like a poem said by a neydy in red
hELXIG 44,012
I don't agree. For me it's definitely HBDYWM, Love Drug and Don't Call Tonight (and kind of The Beast). I just find them all kind of... boring, one note and very generic lyrics. The bridge of DCT saves it. I think we can all agree that Gaga's music has always had a signature 'Gaga flair'. People have always said that you can just tell it's a Gaga song by that indistinguishable 'something' she adds in there. But these three seem to be missing that, like a hundred others artists could've produced them. Bad songs? Absolutely not! Great songs! But they don't have that next level something interesting that we're used to from her Edit: I am still so perplexed how the first half of the album is sooo strong and exactly the level you'd expect from Gaga but the second half is so different, like a totally different album. All of it is good music but the second half of Mayhem doesn't feel on Gaga's usual level Edited December 30, 2025 by hELXIG I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

The first 7 songs are quite different but still make a cohesive album, while after Zombieboy you just don't know what the **** is happening anymore (talking about standard tracklist) 1

I learned recently that people hear different things when they hear music. I'm very hooked by creative lyrics, my dad though literally doesn't even hear the words and only hears the beat. And the 'your love is my drug' thing is one of the most overdone, cliche tropes in all of music, so I just found it kinda boring. Her vocals are absolutely fire though and the instrumental is great too but... meh Anyway, I guess I'll be dancing in the flames tonight I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Do you like Shadow Of A Man, though? Do you think that would fit in earlier on the tracklist?
