Israel becomes the first country to recognize Somaliland

Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and Somaliland's president signed a joint declaration of mutual recognition, the Israeli statement said.

Netanyahu said the declaration "is in the spirit of the Abraham Accords, signed at the initiative of President Trump." The 2020 accords were brokered by Trump's first administration and included Israel formalising diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, with other countries joining later.

Abdullahi said in a statement that Somaliland would join the Abraham Accords, calling it a step toward regional and global peace. He said Somaliland was committed to building partnerships, boosting mutual prosperity and promoting stability across the Middle East and Africa.

It's been fun watching Vance squirm with how extreme different facets of the right are. He's got to win over a plurality to be Trump's successor.

He's promising nazis a clean and total break from Israel ('cause something something jews).

He's promising traditional conservatives he'll fight antisemitism and protect Israel against the Muslim menace.

He's telling neo-MAGA that "America first" will become "America ONLY" and we'll basically become an isolated nation, withdrawing from NATO, the UN, foreign conflicts, unfavorable trade agreements, etc.

Those who claim this will "anger the MAGAts" misunderstand MAGA ideology. Israel is in essence an anti-Jewish project in the sense that it provides a place to effectively exile Jewish people. If Hitler was alive today, I have no doubt he would support a similar project. In fact, the Nazis had already proposed such plans, entered into agreements to that effect, and participated in the colonization of Palestine for that very purpose. The idea that MAGA and today's so-called fascists would oppose Israel is completely backwards.

There is a clear reason why right-wing projects worldwide, without exception, support Israel and downplay the genocide in Palestine. The recognition of Somaliland is another imperialist gesture by Israel, whose sole purpose is to expand its influence in the region and flagrantly violate Somalia's sovereignty, given that Somaliland is an integral part of its territory, NOT an independent nation.

It is a blatant violation of sovereignty supported by the world's greatest sovereignty violators: the United States and Israel. They consistently play the victim claiming to be under attack, yet never hesitate to turn around and commit far worse acts if it serves their interests. The United States caused an international uproar over Ukraine, only to contradict itself shortly after by doing something comparable with Venezuela and abandoning the Ukraine expansionist project. Regarding Venezuela, they claimed it was to "reduce drug trafficking" yet Trump pardoned a notorious drug trafficker in Honduras, a former president who undoubtedly ruined his own country and its sovereignty in favor of US interests in the region.

Now, the imperialist project of Trump and the US in Venezuela has become obvious, in the sense that they are saying it directly: we want Venezuela's oil. And that is because the internal situation in the US and its allies, and the decadence of its far-reaching global power, is becoming unsustainable. Consequently, the imperialist arms that nurtured the empire's internal stability and its power abroad must be reinforced and extended as much as possible. Venezuela and Somalia are two sides of the same coin.

Israel complains about being attacked by Iran and other Middle Eastern nations while continuing to seize territories that do not belong to them by any definition: Syrian lands, areas in Yemen, and of course the historical territory of Palestine. The colonization began at the whim of ethnonationalists and the sustained economic interests of Western powers, who cannot tolerate the notion of an independent and sovereign Middle East. This latest action by Netanyahu is part of his colonial project, and there is no other way to see it.

Honestly, this is why I know the Magat movement dies if they can't sort their **** out (and they've shown none of the actual skill to achieve it). 
Its a movement tied together purely by a personality cult, the second that personality is gone so goes the movement. Them failing to secure 2020 stopped them being able to effectively embed themselves.

I feel like most things Israel does can be chalked up to one of two things: imperialistic genocide or public relations.

Looking at this with more info, I'm realizing that this is a ploy. They are recognizing a largely unrecognized nation right next to the Houthis in Yemen. It's clear that this is to provide a much closer counter to them. On top of that, Israel recognizes a nation trying to leave Somalia in the midst of the anti-Somalia sentiment from the far-right in the US. This is 100% a diplomatic move that is intended on improving their strategic position and prestige and nothing more.
