I think the promo was minimal because they knew the movie would disappoint. It simply does nothing with the ideas they were trying to explore unfortunately. It was 3 movies in one (courtroom drama, romantic thriller and showtune musical) and none of them were good enough to stand on their own. I think Joaquin and Gaga both knew that and the fact that Harlequin exists because Gaga said she wanted to explore more of the character tells me she was not satisfied with the movie. This live perfomance makes me wish there would have been a Harlequin Tour in exactly that style... a tour in smaller venues with that stage and maybe a longer setlist - a dream called "The Harlequin Ball".
