I love all her ballads! Speechless was perhaps my first favorite, so it holds a very special place in my heart. I need to mention Princess Die even if it’s an unreleased track because I think it’s one of her most vulnerable songs alongside Dope which is one of my all-time favorite songs. I love Hold My Hand and it kind of held my hand in so many moments of my life! ITA? is absolutely perfect to me and INLA was my number one for a long time until Happy Mistake was released. So my current favorite is Happy Mistake

I’m so happy I’ll see her performing it soon on Harlequin Live!

And I'm all for a ballad album!

Making me pick between Dope and Happy Mistake is so cruel :fatcat:

Picked Dope 'cause she doesn't get enough love but throw in either version of Joanne and you have my ultimate trilogy. Her best three songs imho.

yesss Dope and Happy Mistake best songs :ally:

i think Brooklyn Nights might take my third spot now, though, but i also love Joanne

Always Remember Us This Way should be bigger than Shallow. It is her best ballad by a landslide.

I s2g if her last ever show doesn't end with ARUTW I'm rioting.

I like how many of y'all are mentioning Happy Mistake cause honestly, if it wasn't for ARUTW, it would my favorite too :kara:

ARUTW and Speechless are timeless to me and I could even see HM claiming a spot there over time. That being said, I go through phases especially during an era where I listen a lot to one of her then current. Also, seeing The Beast live was quite something and definitely brought her some extra streams since November :kara:

I always say this any chance I get the opportunity to, but now I have a story to add so HERE WE GO

I chose Dope as that song was the song that basically stopped me from going down the route of alcoholism and drug abuse my family is riddled with.

So I have the second verse of dope tattooed around my right arm "Toast 1 last puff 2 Last Regrets 3 spirits & 12 lonely steps up heavens stairway to gold" the numbers in that when read from left to right are 1 2 3 1 2 that was the house number for the home I grew up in and it throttled me into realizing that I was gonna lose my family and friends and loved ones all so I could chase the highs of addiction. That I need THEM more than I need Dope.

Flash forward to the Mayhem ball in Seattle

I got tickets to all three nights because I am WHAT IRRESPONSIBLE

We had 3 ARTPOP songs left for the Bows (excluding DWUW obviously)

Every single night I crossed my fingers BEGGING to hear that C minor chord (just started tearing up)

Night 1 Fashion!

Night 2 Jewels n Drugs

Night 3 I got it. I got Dope.

I sat there in my seat for the first time since she walked away from the scroll and SOBBED I ruminated over the life I was able to live because that song saved my life. Between hyperventilating I noticed she was crying too.

I need you all to understand that this woman that I have basically idolized since I was a ****ing child was crying with me, together our emotions were aligned and we were sharing this beautiful moment in this arena. It felt like she was holding me and like everything was gonna be okay.

SO YEAH that's why Dope will remain my Number 1 favorite ballad.

God, I remember where I was hearing it for the first time. I remember logging onto YouTube and streaming it in my living room on the family computer while my parents were smoking cigarettes out front of our house probably a year before the song would really click with me and push me to change my life. I remember being so shaken that I Wanna Be With U's soul was transformed into something so dark and angry and pleading. She was broken, and I didn't know that point was coming for me too. I remember hearing that intro and just crying because it was just so somber. I saw Gaga for the first time as fallible. She wasn't this alien warrior queen she's just a girl from New York who had a lucky break and made a lot of risky decisions.

I say all of this to say, she saved my life. She pushed me to change my trajectory and without this song without THAT LYRIC in the second verse I may have never met my husband, may have never moved to Seattle, may have ended up committing suicide because that was the road I was going down.

Anyways that's enough yapping for me :sara:

Yoü & I live clears all of them. But actually it maybe shouldn't be in the same list as all these others, because it's a power ballad, the rest are more real ballads.

Her ballads really are so elite. I chose Speechless, but honestly could’ve easily been ARUTW, HM, ITA…

We have forgotten our public MANNERS
