now that was a story..

I had Canon g7x

Security took my bag at the second show (i was vip ee) and they didn’t care what camera i have. They said NO. I asked if i can get a power battery from my bag and they said ok and turned their head around for a second and i managed to grab and sneak the camera too… my suggestion is…put it in your pants if you can :messga:

Oh, wow!

Very nice pictures for a compact camera, congrats! I haven't been that up to date with the market of compacts for years, so thought this was with a system camera or small dslr or so.

For concert photography I've been using the same compact camera for about 17 years, I think! It has a great zoom, of course the IQ isn't up to today's standards anymore, but in good lit concerts it still holds up very well and it was - I think - about 200 euros back then. I'd like to update my "concert camera", but I see that the ones that are worth it are like 1000+ euros, like yours, and that's already entering interchangeable lens camera territory  prices :messga:
I prefer spending that amount of money on more lenses for my main camera :enigma:

Look up if you can rent it, just for the show

Great idea! It might give me anxiety, though, haha, knowing how push and shove etc concerts sometimes are. I have rented a lens before, but it was to use in a somewhat more controlled environment :p
