My thoughts on Sydney n2 (Mayhem Ball)

I am not from Sydney, however I attended the show, because I know Gaga doesn't tour much and last time she appeared in Australia was 11 years ago.

*My thoughts and views on attending THE MAYHEM BALL in Sydney N2

- The amount of humans present was... next level. I was so overwhelmed lol.

- The waitime was a bit late, but necessary due to hundreds people still entering Accor Stadium and with the sun slowly going down.

- The Gaga fanbase community has grown so much. It was such a diverse crowd of people from all walks of life. The core of it being mainly Millennials and Gen Z. :vegas:

- The staging was definitely designed for arenas, however the whole stadium atmosphere was electric with the coordinated wristbands.

- The rain did unfortunately have some negative effects, including dancer Michael slipping over stage and the Manifesto interlude restarting due to technical difficulty.

- Majority of the crowd wasn't angry after GOE pause, just concerned and confused. We were just so keen to resume and get the show going again. Don't listen to tiktok. It was a 5-6 min pause just to adjust the shoes.

- Had a 3rd mishap happened then I do think the show would've been thrown off quite a bit, production-wise and time-wise, however that didn't happen.

- The audience did the Mexican wave while waiting for the show to resume.

- From PF onwards, Gaga and her dancers absolutely soldiered throughout the rain and gave us one hell of a show. I'm still in awe. :koons:

- I did notice some people remained seated once the show resumed, probably because the continued rain and maybe off vibe? I'm sure GaGa noticed too sadly with her "get your hands up, I see you guys in the rain" comments

- The dancers didn't lift her above their head due to wet stage and the "Paparazzi" dress got soaked and stuck on stage meaning the rainbow effect  wasn't in well, full effect. Obviously you'll only notice these slight hiccups if you're a regular on GagaDaily haha.

- The Beast & Killah were insane live! The band was going so hard on "Killah". Need a released live version pleaseee.

- My side was so hyped when TDD came on, no joke. :huntyga:

- The rain was cool, but kind of eerie too. It worked well for the story.

- By the time "Killah" showed up most of us just accepted the rain was here to stay and that was just how it is.

- Whole stadium erupted when "Just Dance" intro played.

- Red cage dress sequence, like no words. Metal asf! :oohrightthereyeah:

- Abracadabra is up there! With "Bad Romance".

- I myself have very sensitive hearing, so I did have to step out a few times during the interludes. It was just SO loud. :air:

- OG fans lowkey tire over PianoGa, but she's here to stay. So much love in the room when she played "Always Remember Rain This Way". :bradley:

- Due to the GOE pause only 1 surprise piano track was played. It was necessary due to the curfew.

- Gaga was very emotional at the end with the goodbyes. Her "thank you for including me in your life" touched all our hearts. You could feel just how much love she has for Australia.

- I am still processing tbh. It was such a surreal experience. Gaga really is one of a kind music athlete! with the way she still brought us not once, but twice back into her chaotic opera house. Don't ever discredit her. She's a force!

MAYHEM ball in the RAIN done and dusted!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It is nice to see what other people's experience has been like in another city and night.

I feel sad reading that Gaga noticed the off-vibe of some people because of the rain :traumatica: but I am sure they gave their all and she is truly a professional so I have no doubts she did her best!

After all, what I do have to say is, this concert is an arena show. I can't imagine it on a stadium, I am glad we got an arena show in Barcelona, because The Chromatica Ball was already massive and overwhelming and it was designed for stadiums, I can't imagine The Mayhem Ball on them.

Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed yourself and that you had a great time, you were lucky the show could still go on besides the rain (pray for TCB Miami :kry:)

Maybe I should've worded it a bit differently. For me personally it did feel like she was feeling the pressure just a smidge once the show resumed after GOE.

It was close to 80k, so she really was fighting hard to bring us back into the story and to make sure people got their moneys worth.

We got there eventually tho.

the show looks great but you have to have decent seats to see her

seeing the POV from people in the back, the stage is barely visible and its such a huge oversight on her and her teams end. there needs to be screens halfway through the crowd to help the nosebleeds see her. i feel like the screen size is the main complaint ive seen, and its a lot of ppl saying it, not just a few.

its just a little rude to have people pay so much and not invest in bigger screens if ur doing a stadium, she shouldve just done arenas at that point if she wasnt willing to make the stage/screens big enough

i would just be happy to be in her proximity, but i do get why people are annoyed.

Did it rain the entire show?

It oddly stopped just before the "rain on me" encore :huntyga:

Oh I’m actually glad you said that because judging by what I’ve read on twitter, it seemed like the show was a whole mess and the pause was much longer so it wasn’t as bad as I expected

Which side were you at? I was at the right side and ppl around me were so hyped too when TDD came on.

I could see Gaga feeling the pressure to recapture the audience and keep the storyline flowing in the heavy rain (since there were some people leaving the venue after those two pauses), and she absolutely killed it. I think she was so relieved at the end and maybe that was why she felt emotional. Best show I've ever attended.

I'm so glad they were able to continue this show after the mishaps!! I was holding my breath on livestream

I wonder if any costumes or props were ruined. But I guess they have multiple anyway so that's probably not a big problem

Always Remember Us This Way sounded beautiful on live so it must have been a lot more so in person :tony:

Thank you for sharing I love hearing everyone's experience! Each show of the tour has been unique but this one will be extra memorable

Also what's the chance she releases MAYHEM live album? I hope she does it

Thank you for thinking of me friend :bradley:  I was at Melbourne night two. It sounds like your show was a very special, unique and memorable one! I love the thing about the crowd doing the Mexican wave! It's so amazing being in a place where people are joyous and just there to have a good time together and make the most of what their time. Concerts are so magical :fatcat:  our show felt magical too. Everything was so impressive irl. I remember being in awe at how impressive and beautiful the visuals were the whole show. This one is REALLY up there in her list of tours

A couple special moments I remember from our show are: everybody freaking out when Applause started (me included because it was one that hadn't been spoiled for me and it felt so emotional to hear a song from the ARTPOP era) and also everyone going nuts when Rain On Me played as the bow/exit song. The energy felt so joyous. And when she sung Marry The Night on piano and added new lyrics everyone was looking around like 'omg is this really happening?' :bradley:

Oh man, take me back! It was so worth waiting all day! We got rain while waiting in line but thankfully our Stadium had a roof. I lined up at 1:30 and there were already 207 people ahead of me in the early entry line, but I still got second row on the side of the runway with a great view of the piano section. What a time to be alive

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

On my side people definitely weren't leaving many were actually going to purchase the rain ponchos or just to grab a drink and then were running right back to their seat.

Not reading the OP for fear of spoilers but seeing y'all enjoy a concert in the rain while my Chromatica Ball date was scrubbed mid-show for the same reason has me howling
