Gaga is the only female artist I ever see people say “she needed (insert other singers name) to get this hit”

but whenever someone else does a collab, like Ariana or The Weeknd for example, I never see those kind of comments

and sadly I do think it really is because the second half of Gaga’s career so far really have been lacking in big successful solo songs. Abra was so important because it was the first time in a long time it seemed like the GP noticed one of her solo singles. Cause they didn’t notice disease, stupid love, perfect illusion, or GUY

I mean lets be honest. U can have a tone of collabs but uf u can point to a few solo smashes as well, u can wave criticism that u can only get hits with collabs (even if u have in fact had a lot of collabs as well)

Ever since Gagas hit streaks ended after applause, how many solo smashes had she had in over a decade?

U literally had MR go top 10 in USA for 1 single week of super bowl (and with itunes discount that same week i might add) and it wasnt a smash globally... and then you had ARUTW be a big hit in some Countries

Were talking 2 major solo hits in 13 whole years... and neither was a huge hit WW across the board, one was bigger in the Americas, the other in Europe and some other Countries... So in the majority of Countries (with maybe a few exeptions) it felt like 1 solo smash in 13 years, not 2.

While im glad Gaga had a big WW smash hit with Abracadabra and managed to put those doubts to rest, its not surprising ppl were starting to have them and I cant blame them. I myself was in the camp that wondered if Gaga would have a major WW solo hit ever again
