AVeryGagaHolyDick 27,510 Posted yesterday at 05:51 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:51 AM Well, Killah is a better song overall but it’s not very original sonically, especially compared to Teeth
Lucas 28,196 Posted yesterday at 06:15 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:15 AM Damn I love both so much! But Teeth holds special memories in my heart

Head Empty 25,523 Posted yesterday at 08:01 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:01 AM They're iconic equals in my opinion so I voted Teeth to even out the results a little

Gorehound 4,866 Posted yesterday at 09:39 AM Share Posted yesterday at 09:39 AM (edited) I LOVE Killah, especially Gesaffelstein’s gritty instrumental and that insane bridge with the drum solo and that SCREAM! (One of MAYHEM’s top moments imo). But I do find Gaga’s delivery of the song far too silly and corny to be convincingly sexy. The lyrics spew sexual violence but the song is not sexy at all; more like an ultra-camp caricature. It's an odd combo. Teeth on the other hand has a real sexual mean streak in it. It’s dark, menacing; a sl*tty, dominatrix vibe, (those spoken word ad libs are c*nty af!), but the song itself is pretty uneventful. I think if you took the whole of Killah, but replaced the camp silliness with the dark, menacing c*nty personality of Teeth, you’d have one HELL of a song! (Arguably the one thing that MAYHEM is missing is that cool OG Gaga smutty sex appeal that’s laced throughout TFM, and I do wish she’d bring that back.) I feel like some of y’all don’t get that Gaga is, largely, campy and corny (complimentary). Like the song is supposed to be funny and the hook (“I’m a killah and boy, you’re gonna die tonight”) is literally a punchline lol. The whole song is basically a morbid, tongue-in-cheek joke. Also, I feel like if you consider the reference points (Midnite Vulture’s era Beck and Young Americans + Scary Monsters Bowie), the caricature quality it’s not that odd, given that both of those artists play up the sleaze for comedic effect. Just because you can hear the sonic influences doesn’t mean that any of the artists she was referencing (Bowie, NIN, Prince, Beck, Janet, Tina) would ever create a song like Killah. IMO, it’s almost like a Frankenstein’s monster of influences put together in a ridiculous way and that’s what I think makes it fun. Ye I totally get that, but I still think that giving Killah a darker sexier edge would've still been way cooler. The camp element of Gaga is fine, but when she goes too silly she loses me.
