Matt does go into it in his video - from what I can recall, his conclusion was that Gwen was always kind of this way, she just kept her worldview to herself for the most part - the times it did creep up during the peak of her fame, her aesthetic of a sorta rebellious pop girl kinda overshadowed it, so noone really paid much attention.
