Everybody In Hollywood Secretly Hate Netflix, So Now What?

I was pretty surprised this summer when a longstanding member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, those guys who hand out the Oscars, said the quiet part out loud in a casual conversation in my backyard.

“Everybody hates Netflix,” she said to a visitor from overseas who inquired about the streamer.

I love the convenience of watching movies at home, but at a certain point, the people who make these movies need to make money and I don’t see how straight to streaming releasing are helping (not to mention that the bulk of Netflix original content is crapola).

I remember when Netflix was all about getting your DVD sent to your house and nothing more... The instant streaming was a cool feature but now the way all the companies just trade the shows back and forth and leave their garbage on all the time is just irritating. 

I wish it stayed a place to rent movies and stopped trying to infiltrate Hollywood
