It has a specificity which is actually quite lacking in Gaga’s discography. She talks about love and bravery and acceptance in broad terms but hearing about the cheap chandelier, the F train, keys in her purse etc makes Brooklyn and her relationship with Luc come alive in a way which is so vivid and heartbreaking. I’m so happy she’s healthy and can sing these sad songs from the place she is currently at.
