Kamala bonks Shapiro; Governor mad

And for those that want the tea, Kamala talked about why she didn’t pick Shapiro for her running mate. 
 

Whahahappened was Kamala had one of her trusted workers pick up every VP candidate for their interviews with her and had her report back what they were like around staff when higher ups weren’t present. Allegedly Shapiro talked about getting paintings loaned to the VP residency from the Smithsonian. Which is like, dude. Read the room. During his interview with Kamala he was also apparently pesky about wanting to be heavily involved with the presidential role, which she had to explain to him couldn’t be guaranteed. The last thing was that each VP candidate was told to avoid the VP residence when they left DC because of the media but Shapiro ‘s car drove right in front of the residency and CNN caught it live. Which comes off as Shapiro wanting to drum up chatter that he was the chosen candidate.
 

So basically she didnt choose him because he’s very blatantly self-interested. I’m glad she bonked him because the only thing he brings to the table is that he’s from PA.

All I saw last year was people praising him, and I didn't get it at all. I still don't. He sounds like a high-school kid pretending to be Barack Obama. You get a vague sense that he's perhaps been near something inspiring at some point, but that's it.

He's very mid-2000s to mid-2010s Democrat. Aka, not what we need in this moment.

Picking him could have potentially clutched PA and therefore the win but there's always gonna be "maybe if's".

Yeah, I've just never really got the hype. There are a dozen Democratic governors I'd pick to run for high office over him, and a dozen who I think would stand a better chance of winning. Beshear probably would've done more for Harris's chances in Pennsylvania, and that's because he's simply a more interesting candidate.

Honestly, I'm conflicted 'cause I like that she went for the guy she personally believed in over the easier win on a swing state but...she should be in the oval office rn so where did that moral high ground get us

I'm sure if Trump could get every A List celebrity to support and go to bat for him he'd be smelling himself even more than he does already.

 

That being said articles like this about the Dems remind me of how he won.

Truthfully, the VP pick and where they came from probably didn’t matter. Keep in mind she won Minnesota by a smaller margin than Biden did in 2020 despite picking our governor as her running mate.

The morning of the VP announcement Shapiro tried to call Kamala but she didn’t take his call because she was obviously busy as hell. She thinks he knew he wasn’t getting picked because of his interview so he was going to try to save face by removing himself from consideration.
