She, to me, is the quintessential example of someone who is technically a good singer who makes me feel absolutely nothing when she sings/performs

Christina was my #1 during Stripped and Back to Basics, but her over-singing started to annoy more and more.  When Gaga came out, her vocal delivery struck the perfect balance for me.  Now listening to Christina’s constant vocal acrobatics drives me nuts.

Tbf, I’ve seen MFT used as a Christmas song before (a lot of people even consider TSOM a Christmas movie). As for why this was in Paris, your guess is as good as mine lmao

I feel something

she annoys me, she does WAY too much, always ruining covers

amazing voice but she overdoes everything, her only bearable songs are the ones where she cointains her banshee belts.

WTF is MDNA

goddddd I'm jealous!! I wanna go to Trocadero and watch Christina live for free :nooo: Paris is soooo beautiful during christmas.

I appreciate she added her own personality but unfortunately I agree she's doing too much lol for this specific song. but that's what they hire Xtina for :vegas:

Her voice has kinda lost its emotive quality over the years. She is technically among the bests, but the vocals don't "feel" like many things anymore - if you compare her with Gaga (or Billie who might not be the greatest vocalist but does what she does tremendously well) who has impeccable emotive delivery and the range to convey lots of feelings through just the voice itself.

River

Buy me diamonds and rubies, I'm crazy 'bout Bentleys
Gucci dresses and drop-top Kompressors
Wine me and dine me, bring those platinum rings
Those are a few of our favourite things

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Yup agree.  Christina can sing circles around most when it comes to runs, and her sheer power (at least in the early years) was only topped by the Trinity.  But great singing is also balancing power with restraint and emotion.  Gaga and other real singers tend to do this better.  Even Gaga has ventured into the “try too hard to impress” category at times, TBH.
