Just her, a mic, and a good song Knowing the time-frame Enigma took place/was being planned and ran, she was still struggling a lot I think and she still managed to give a pop-theatrical show perfect for Vegas. If she returned with another residency though- I don't imagine she would revisit the original concept of Enigma and instead curate an entirely new show that would blow us all away. I try to remember how a lot of what she has been saying this era is she feels comfortable again being Lady Gaga and revisiting her inspiration, so I can only imagine (and hope) this energy continues for the rest of her career and we as fans just aren't ready in the way we were back in the late 2000s.
Ladle Ghoulash 29,516
Ngl I would love for her to rework the production on Chromatica itself, but I have basically zero interest in her returning to that specific sound for another album. Wouldn’t be opposed to her doing another disco/house inspired record, but not by way of 2010s Kyogo pop house. Would need something more exciting/dynamic. Yuko 1,010
I find myself revisiting Chromatica the least. I don't ascribe that to anything about the music or Gaga herself. When she released it, we were still in the throes of COVID first wave. She toured at a time when COVID was still in the news regularly. Maybe I have associated it with that dark time in my life and in world events in general. I suppose it needs a cooldown period. When I do revisit it, the darkness of the lyrics have really sunken in at this point. It hurts to hear her pain through the music; it almost feels reflective of the time too, and I was unhappy then. I needed the dance music to wash away the anxiety about life, but now I enjoy the clarity, relative optimism, maturity and acceptance in MAYHEM. It feels like it came at the right time. faysalaaa 5,000
Babylon and Replay are the only songs I would love her to revisit. While while im not a fan of Rain On Me, I think she should perform it considering its one of her few pop hits the past 10 years. Edit: I thought you meant perform songs from Chromatica again Edited 3 hours ago by faysalaaa
elegidadedios 2,506
Not interested. The genres explored in Chromatica are probably my fav ones to listen to in general, so I loved that album (for what it is, I'm aware of every flaw and how Gaga was not that involved). Nevertheless, putting it into perspective - specially now that we've had MAYHEM, her best body of work imo -, I'm way more interested in a following path to it. Simply because it feels like a no returning point (which is ironic because I can feel her pre-The Fame vibes all over it), and it is so mature. Such an album unequivocally linked to a 39 yo woman. I don't know how to explain it. This is where she shines the most and I truly hope she takes steps from this one for LG8. In fact, I wouldn't mind if she just releases the same sound in her next album but with other topics - I constantly dream about a concept where she states "I talked about my inner chaos in my previous album, I felt like I needed to talk about all the mayhem happening in the world this time around". (Not gonna happen tho) Edited 2 hours ago by elegidadedios

ActualPatient 1,998
Chromatica is one of my faves, mainly because I like sad/heartbreaking songs. But the most interesting part of it is how Gaga cloaked all that heartbreak with upbeat music... if you're listening, it sounds like something for the club. but if you inspect more closely, it has some of her saddest lyrics & storytelling. i understand why this time, it's the album that may 'feel like surgery' to her, something she once used to describe ARTPOP.

The artRAVE only had an acoustic version of Born This Way and then a very short version of Judas later on. The JWT only had Applause. The Chromatica Ball only had Angel Down. The Mayhem Ball...well, idk the setlist yet but I'm assuming no Chromatica period? I'm sure she'll sneak it into the piano segment though and in future shows she'll bring a couple songs back. Yeah she has a tendency to prioritize older hits on tour rather than recent hits. Like how we got zero from Joanne on TCB until she added Angel Down near the end.
