Which Weeknd tour are you talking about because I can't find anything that matches your timeline for the current After Hours tour. As for does it matter when a tour sells out? It absolutely does because of how tours are financed. They use the ticket sale revenue to finance the show actually being set up for that leg of the tour. Its why dates get cancelled due to "scheduling issues" - its because the tickets aren't selling quick enough to reach the break even point. The Weeknd announced an additional SoFi show 4 weeks in advance, same for Shakira with the second dates in East Rutherford, Miami and Inglewood as well as the Fresno date also like a month before. And many honestly thought Shakira couldn't even sell out one stadium show. Yes, the majority of tickets sat for a long time so we all thought the dates would be cancelled again, but two week before they started selling magically. The shows ended up being full of people... I know we are talking about additional dates for an already announced (and probably financed) tour. But can't you be almost certain that a Lady Gaga tour will sell its tickets so the finances shouldn't worry because the money will come in either way? (As long as they don't price tickets $300 for nosebleed seats). And for a more recent example: the Cowboy Carter tour was announced on February 2 and started on April 28, so barely three months in between, There were many dates that had thousands of open seats till a few days before the show and as for many others, it worked out because people nowadays seem to buy more tickets last minute.
