Donald Trump called for Democratic lawmakers to face the death penalty in response to a video about the military. Democratic lawmakers made it clear that, in light of recent events in the Caribbean and in the country, that military service members do not have to obey illegal orders. This was called treason by many MAGA supporters, and one Truth Social user said that this used to be a cause for the death penalty. Trump both shared this and a message of his own called for Democratic lawmakers sharing this message to face the death penalty.

Honestly, having studied history I thought the Nazis having had nearly 100 years to prepare a 2nd attempt would do better. 

Obviously all the smart ones died at Nuremberg.

Honestly, the Trump admin’s Nazism reminds of one of my favorite Marx tropes that historical phenomena appear first as tragedy, second as farce. They’re so obsessed with the theatre of authoritarianism and don’t seem to understand the underlying mechanics of successfully consolidating power lol.
