GerMonsterNotta 1,863
I’m seeing Wicked For Good tonight, at a special showing where they are playing Wicked pt 1 first, then a small break, and then we get pt 2. I’m really looking forward to experiencing these films in this format! I’ve never done anything quite like this. Has anyone else seen Wicked FG yet or has a ticket booked? I feel like there’s so much hype about this one, saying it takes everything to a new level.. I loved pt 1, and I’m stoked to see with my own eyes how they present and develop this story 🫧 💕💚 🧙🏾♀️ 💀 Edited November 20, 2025 by GerMonsterNotta 1
TheBeast 1,437
I saw in on Monday and I wont spoil much - I went with a die-hard fan of the Broadway show and someone who saw the first movie the day we saw it. All three of us absolutely loved it. You will have a fantastic time. You can't hide who you are, 11:59.
Tomas 156
I saw it yesterday and the day before yesterday. Here's my thoughts as a die-hard Wicked fan who's seen the stage show 8 times and reads the book almost every year. I thought it was absolutely fantastic in every single way. For the love of God, BRING TISSUES. I cried and I cried some more. The whole cast is fantastic, with Cynthia and Ariana giving truly Oscar worthy performances. I know this one is getting not as stellar reviews by critics as the first one, but fans generally seem to love it. The music is just so beautiful. I loved the two new songs. To me it was a truly perfect adaptation. I won't spoil anything, but just wait until you see Cynthia's No Good Deed. ABSOLUTE CHILLS. I might go see it in 4DX next week. Enjoy the film! GerMonsterNotta 1,863
Reflecting on my viewing experience last night. No huge spoilers - but if you don’t know the broadway musical and you want to avoid spoilers maybe avoid reading below.. - I won’t mention the music too much, as it’s just a given that pt 1 will always win no matter what on that matter. Watching the films back-to-back / in close succession - is an intense, long experience!!! Personally for me, pt 1 hits harder in places - there’s just so much nuance and depth in the Wicked pt1 bullying narrative and bully-peer-friend-dynamics at shiz, and the concept of the classic story of kids ‘ trying to find their place reimagined in a creative, fantasy way’ really shines on. As well as Elphaba reaching out to self-heal the broken child within her. These are very powerful messages, which I think are delivered in smart and beautiful ways. Messages that the world NEEDS. coming to pt2, they did a good job to build this story out more to warrant a whole second movie. It feels a lot more weighted toward Glinda’s story.. which I feel like is done well enough. the Nessarose character building was strong, and I liked the feeling that when one disenfranchised group falls (animals), others can become vulnerable too (munchkins).. although I would have loved this to be developed just that little bit more to hit home more in this macro way.. rather than it to be her own micro-obsession with Boq. Boq’s transformation was well done. on Nessaroses death… although I could tell they tried to build some depth into the travesty of her death - that needed more with it being a live action film, and with so much emotional depth elsewhere… this needed that bit more space to breathe in the sadness before a comical catfight literally over her dead body… The new songs were nice, but I felt like they didn’t move the story on or expand it in places where needed…. Can have used elsewhere I felt like the version of Elphaba which got warranted some kind of ‘followers’.. even if they very few and non vocal characters…she’s presented as a strong rebel and activist and for this to feel ‘complete’ - some kind of small creatures or device to complete this persona - even if these followers ultimately left her as they felt the battle was lost… this would have her given Elphaba space to help the audience understand what is going on her head at this time and develop her mission and values even further…. There was no confrontation between Morrible and Elphaba. Im in so minds about whether this was needed or not, but Morrible appeared a lot and it really ‘her fault’ on the villainfying of Elphaba, and the first film there was a lot of development of their relationship, of her being the creepy manipulative teacher out for herself. I needed Elphaba to really put her in her place. Glinda putting her in cage just to wasn’t enough for this evil witch who literally stirs up the whole tragedy within Wicked. Elphaba is presented as a very smart young woman in both films, whereas OZ citizens and culture appear very dumb and gulible ….ie Elphaba sees straight through the wizard on their first meeting… I’m sure this smart portrayal of this character already understands deeply what’s happening in Oz and the pros/cons of the wizards sham game - ie even if the truth was revealed it wouldn’t change anything as the wizard says to her…. It would have been good to have developed what was Elphabas ultimate intention, like - - ok even IF she got him to reveal the truth and release the animals but then what…how could Oz have functioned… what was Elphabas perspective.. I believe this Elphaba version would have thought deeply on this and would have had ideas, and didn’t need the Wizard to mansplain this to her… it would have been believable, particularly at the start of the pt 2, if Elphaba had some kind of democratic, harmonious end-game in mind in the take down of the wizards dictatorship….. if she would have left her ‘grand plan’ written in the grimierie as a roadmap for Glinda to restore order -maybe- this would have closed a real loop where Glinda clearly learned about good and bad forms of leadership and accountability through Elphaba, ie presenting Elphaba as a trailblazer and thinking ‘beyond her time’….. it was now Glinda’s mission to see that through… it would have helped closed the loop more neatly on LEARNING from history rather than discarding or repeating it, … which is alluded to during Glinda’s history lesson with Dillamond in her Shiz days….. ‘ie can we learn something instead of harking on about the past?’ ANYWAY, with all that said - I actually think they did a good job, with stunning costume, effects, design and beautiful singing, heartfelt emotion - Cynthia and Ariana shine and they deserve Oscars as they brought all the material alive. I just felt like it would have been nice for the storytelling to be pushed a little further on subtle messaging, not in a preachy way at all, but I felt pt1 did a good job here with this and this is what I loved most …….. and I just see more potential in pt2…………. I am nitpicking as the first film is really 5* for me, but the second is probably 4*, (but that’s just my personal thoughts) 💀xoxo Edited November 21, 2025 by GerMonsterNotta 1
CoolTrainerTerry 1,504
No Good Deed is an absolute monster in this. The notes that she hits are insane! I legitimately wanted to stand up and cheer when it finished because it was that damn good. 1

I think its the strongest moment in both of the movies. Edited November 22, 2025 by Agunimon
DelusionalGaga 29,668
The performances were absolutely stellar. Cynthia and Ariana are pure magic whenever they're together. I genuinely teared up at the closet door scene at the end. However the pacing is mess and it feels like the movie can't wait to be over. It's truly hard to understand the characters motives when we jump from scene to scene, from tone to tone. The plot really doesn't make any sense tbh. 1

Duella Dvil 10,707
Okay, so I too did the double feature and I will say this, WATCH THEM BOTH having them closer together is so much better you catch EVERY detail so much more effectively. As said above, the second half isn't necessarily as strong as the first BUT No Good Deed, No Place Like Home and As Long As You're Mine are not just highlights of the film they're highlights of the franchise. The feeling you walk out with is just so hopeful, and good luck watching part 1's No One Mourns The Wicked without sobbing. How they handle the climax at the end... Jon M Chu the icon you are. I feel crazy for saying this but ... I hope this ISN'T the end 😭😭😭 The way the film ends just feels like there's such a bright future for the Witches of Oz and I just NEED MORE Madame Morrible is a wretched cnt so GREAT JOB MICHELLE YOU ATE THAT UPPPPPP YUP YUP The heart of this story is social justice and it really hits close to home with all of the ICE raids going on in the US and the genocide in Gaza, Sudan, and the Congo. We are all Elphaba and need to be standing with our fellow community members and taking a stand and defying our "Wizards." This was handled masterfully and will remain a timeless piece of art for the rest of our time on this earth. Onto the cowardly lion BITCH WHEN I CATCH YOU IT'S OVER FOR YOU DO YOU HEAR ME RAGGEDY ASS HOE YOU ARE A CLASS TRAITOR AND A LITTLE BITCH YOUR REDEMPTION ARC IN THE WIZARD OF OZ IS BUILT ON LIES AND SLANDER AND TRUST YOU WILL BE DEALT WITH TRUST Also THE BATS HELPING GLINDA GET READY 😭😭😭 THEY WERE SO CUUUUUUTE I am gonna try not to continue rambling but I absolutely want to www.instagram.com/theduella666 1
