I'm still not crazy about some of the production choices made for this song. I think real guitars would have elevated it from an 8/10 to a 20/10 but I always prefer analog stuff.

That video is probably the best non-MJ video I've seen and the acoustic versions are out of this world

Tbh that’s how I feel about most of ARTPOP, but I think she was more successful in converting a pop rock sensibility into the electronic production style on BTW than she was on AP

Analog ARTPOP would be weird but I'm here to hear it  

I would definitely listen to MTN more often if that one guitar sounding synth (or just straight up guitar, I guess that's what it's supposed to be) had more weight to it. 

In my head, I can hear an electric guitar with a wide sound, a pulse filter, and a wah effect on it underneath the beat of the chorus and my god

"It sounds constricted" is the best way I can describe a lot of BTW's production. ARTPOP feels a little less offensive to the ears 'cause a lot of its electronic bits are big sounds.

Don't get me wrong, still her magnum opus, but BTW deserved to be a full rock album

I’m not saying analog ARTPOP . I’m saying electroclash ARTPOP (use core EDM tracks + more live/rock feeling instrumentation like she does live). IMO, I think that’s the sweet spot for a lot of Gaga’s electronic music: sitting on the line between electronic, rock, and dance, so I feel like BTW fits the bill, but I’d also definitely be down to hear her play the whole record live with a band.

Ironically, I actually feel like AP’s production/engineering feels more flat/constricted than BTW. I feel like everything has a lot of room to breath on BTW, but AP’s musical details get lost in how loud the mix is and the lack of space for the instrumentation. I still want to hear AP and Joanne specifically re-engineered in the vein of MAYHEM. Would blast my wig to Venus.

My favorite song from her. That video is such a masterpiece. The way she told her story in such a vulnerable yet camp and fabulous way. We knew very little about that traumatic time in her life back then and coming back to the short film, it was her telling us everything in a veiled symbolic way. She really poured her heart into that short film. Pure art.

Such a great song and video. Shame on the publics prejudice against being different and radio boycotting her music at this time. What should've been a hit that would've allowed us at least one 2012 BTW single got ruined by everyone else.
