I feel like you’re kind of missing the point of Bronco’s critique. The critique isn’t that the adaptation is different, it’s that it’s unfaithful in a potentially distasteful way.

Look, Wuthering Heights has a long and controversial history of being glamorised as a love story. 

I'm all for artistic license, but unless they make serious changes to the story. This will be a film that romanticises and eroticisies domestic abuse. 

Don't think being uncomfortable at the idea of glamorising, romanticising and eroticising is something I need to broaded my horizons and embrace tbh.

I have the same feeling as @Bronco but I'm hoping (coping) that the font/style they are using for promotion means the film is a deliberate bastardization and play on the story than a direct adaptation that presents a mischaracterization of the original themes. Charli doing the soundtrack gives me a little hope as well. 

It's one of my favorite novels so please just let me cope until I can't anymore.

Maybe not here, but I’ve read some pretty definitive opinions online solely based on the trailer. Emerald Fennell knows what she’s doing, I’m all for trusting her vision and see what the movie actually says.

Ngl I personally don’t think Emerald Fennell knows what she’s doing (Saltburn was largely all shock and no substance and heavily derivative, imo). But I’m happy to reserve judgement on this project specifically
