For BOTH the vmas video of the year and Grammys best music video???

It just doesn’t make sense…

this is her most iconic and commercially successful and praised MV since Bad Romance… maybe even more praised by GP than bad romance was…

so it was right there.  The best MV of 2025 is Abracadabra.  It at LEAST deserved to be nominated for VMA video of the year AND Grammys best MV.

wtf happened ?????  Was I living in a bubble and does no one else think this MV was good?? lol

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

They didn’t submit it for VOTY at the VMAs. DWAS was her submission for all of the mail categories and Abra in the technical ones.

That Grammy category has a panel that has never favored pop videos. Them going with Sabrina sucks, but isn’t all that shocking or too big of a deal in the grand scheme of MAYHEM’s recognition.

Because the song and the video is not as good as this fanbase gaslight themselves into thinking that it is

Or maybe because Grammys do not indicate or mean anything unlike the whole world gaslight us to think otherwise

Honestly, if i am not a Little Monster... the music video would not be that much impactful or groundbreaking. But as a LM.... that video + the Gaga factor which is the fashion and darkness/weirdness + a banger of a song that is instantly a Gaga classic, makes me feel that it should be up there. What made it more special is her relationship with Parris and the dancers, especially when u watched the Mastercard behind the scenes video. But again, this is not something unique or specially done by Gaga. Other artists or music video directors or choreographers have done such....

But again, im not saying i expected that it wont be nominated. Gaga is a Grammy darling + the video is still amazingly done.. so i was surprised

I think given the impact alone, a la it being recreated everywhere, kids wearing it for halloween, etc, it should have been nominated. Brat WON for album package... bc of it's impact, not the beauty and quality of the cover.

so idk why it wasn't! SHAME on the grammys

She probably just didn’t submit it. Such an easy winner so she probably wanted to give someone else a chance. I think we all know the true video of the year. No award of any caliber can tell us different!

Why would anyone want to give someone else a chance? :trollga:

I think we tend to overestimate it a little bit.  It’s amazingly well choreographed and shot but it’s essentially just a dance video shot in one room.

I think we all reacted that way to it because Gaga’s last reaaaaally well executed/filmed group choreo in a music video was probably Yoü And I in 2011. It’s something we had missed. But the whole storyline demonstration basically happens in the first sequences of the video, from the start to the first verse. Then it’s essentially shots of the same scenes, one with a different outfit.

It’s still a fantastic video for what it is, but I probably wouldn’t name it in Gaga’s top 10 music videos.

so it is Bad Romance lol you can still have a garbage video shot in multiple locations with a ton of looks and and props, none of that really makes a quality artistic video, it is really surface level stuff. The concept of Abracadabra alone, the liminal space feeling, the metaphysical layer to it, it is exquisite, stop this madness of trying to undermine it.
