I’m glad she’s seeing some positive reviews. After the year she’s had with constant online bullying and ridicule it’s honestly impressive how she continued to go on to do a successful tour amidst all the hate. And then to release a personal song while knowing most of the world is still hoping you fall is pretty strong too. She keeps going and I’m glad this one is going better for her.

Im sorry but this feels like the media is trying to give her a rudemption narrative or something because this song is just really Bad. The chorus and her Voice Are so annoying, I‘m Not sure why anybody would get out of their way to listen to that. Everything on 123 was better

Approximately no one does that, unless they’re campaigning for an Oscar and a reporter threatens to publicly ask them about it:bear:

Looks like working with Cirkut and Andrew Watt is the thing now #jk

The song's fun, feels like an ode to 'One of the Boys' for me at least, def. better than the entire 143

However, i do feel as though Katy has had such a string of mishaps that it'll be hard to replicate what once was:yennefer:
To put it this way, Gaga went through a massive hate train as well, people were saying she's over during ARTPOP era and on.
However, looking back to the those years, she's had lots of critically acclaimed moments that brought sort of a yang to the yin. E.G. Sound of Music performance, Superbowl, AHS, ASIB. Not all was music related or close to what Gaga was at the beginning of her career, but it kept shedding light to all of the negativity.

Thus, when releasing Mayhem, it didn't feel "needed" for her to do so, but (as critics said) a return to her roots. So as the negativity toned down, this was a celebration of her journey which is certainly way easier to be digested. People needed this music from her, not the other way around. Small or big steps, she kept on climbing the ladder or at least remain still.

It feels like Katy has been constantly falling and the ground floor is nowhere to be seen :madge:

Well they should do it. Apologizing for making a big mistake should be standard with celebrities. I hate that it isn’t.

I’m still a little pressed about Gagita waiting so long to apologize for the R Kelly mistake she made lol

Battle 4 Ur Life

no but it is def her best single since forever because finally she put some authenticity behind it. Katy should just invest more into pop rock and midtempo which she’s better at instead of trying so hard with dance pop and house when she so behind the competition. if she doesn’t she’s just asking to flop again.

Thats why Gaga is truly the chameleon of music, well rounded artist. Past ARTPOP she worked with Bennett for Jazz, showcasing her vocal power through amazing performances, getting into acting, released a toned down album (Joanne) which is more critically acclaimed than any albums Katy has released, yet some of the fandoms are still calling her flop.

Im glad that her talent now more recognize and appreciated by GP, which Katy lacks of, comparing Gaga and Katy now feels like comparing Madonna and Cyndi in early 2000s lol :huntyga:

REALITY

I really don't care for Katy, but I think the song is not bad. It's an improvement from 143, but that was the bottom of the barrel for her, so the bar wasn't set high.

In terms of her new music, this sounds most like "classic Katy," which if that was never your thing, then you're not going to like the song.
