Rosalía - LUX

I’ve cried listening to LUX. She gave me chills. She played, experimented, and had fun with Motomami (which I love — one of my favorite albums ever), but LUX is pure craftswomanship in its musical finesse, engaging more than just the senses: true emotions and a spiritual experience — a very personal and generous way to show us how much of an artist she truly is.

A beautiful musical anomaly. AOTY if the Academy is fair.

this is truly amazing! I was afraid it was going to sound like Berghain in its entirely (not that it was bad but kinda too heavy to listen on the daily basis) so I was happily surprised at first listen because it still has pop melodies and pretty much the same overall vibe from her previous records especially El Mal Querer

It feels very Bjork-coded as a whole, it gives Homogenic vibes

Reliquia is my favorite song on the album

That was my first thought. VERY much reminded me of Homogenic though with less electronic (but I also consider that to be something of a Björk-ism that when others emulate usually falls flat so I like that she brought her own originality and fearlessness)

If you’re listening on Spotify, there’s a translate button in the lyric window at the bottom of the screen! (Shoutout to @Morphine Princefor clocking this the other day)

High highs, found some parts kind of predictable.

La Perla is so out of place

Couldn’t agree more about Perla. I moved it to after Mio Cristo and it works a bit better.
