Grammy nominations: What to expect

Based on the list provided, I honestly don't hold out much hope than 5 nominations max. AOTY, Best Pop Vocal are most likely but Abra likely won't get both SOTY and ROTY, only one or the other. Disease is so long ago and forgotten now and wasn't a hit anyway so I can't see it getting supported unless pop solo nom slots are really thin on the ground. Somehow doubtful that Perfect Celebrity will get recognised in any other category, the academy only seem to nominate multiple non-singles under different categories when it's Beyonce. As for Harlequin, much as I'd like it to be nominated, I just think critics moved right on from it immediately and it has negative association with the movie but it may possibly snatch a best trad pop nom as that category is always notoriously easy to get nominated in as big names usually have the advantage, competition isn't high and the winner is usually who's the most popular.

But I'd love to be proven wrong, of course. MTV loving her all up is a good sign.

I think she’ll get AOTY, ROTY, SOTY (unlikely to win tho, she’ll squeeze in due to large number of noms in this category), Abra for Pop Dance or whatever the name of the category is nowadays, MV (should win but you never know), Traditional Pop for Harlequin (won’t win imo), Pop Album, and if she’s indeed the frontrunner for AOTY, Best Pop Solo for Disease, Remixed Recording for Abra, and Best Engineered Album (won’t count for Gaga I think). So 6-7 likely, 9 if all goes well. Crazy when you think about it. MAYHEM may very well end up with 10+ noms (inc. 2 for DWAS last year). If she had won SOTY for DWAS as she deserved, she could’ve swept the big categories with this album. Amazing tbh.

AOTY feels like a shoe-in nomination wise because she’s had one of the biggest and most critically acclaimed albums in the pop sphere. 
 

I feel like she most definitely will win BPVA though. I think she DESERVES AOTY though because it’s long overdue for her to win in one of the Big 3. Born This Way was her last album that deserved a win in the Big 3

i feel she and Sabrina will split pop and aoty,so either she win pop album and lose aoty or Sabrina win pop album and lose aoty, i think the latter

gaga's been in the good graces of her music industry peers these past few years, so i'm confident she can get the nominations, but not sure about the wins, especially going up against kendrick

This would be insanely odd, as typically the winner of AOTY also wins its respective genre album category. If it doesn’t, then that means voters of the genre didn’t support it much whereas cross-over voters from other genres did. It would be very unlikely for Gaga or Sabrina to win AOTY and lose Pop Vocal.

I really hope Harlequin gets a nom for album cover!

I still don't understand not submitting VIY, I wonder if it could it be submitted in future if it's ever used in following years for a visual media? I can imagine it on a soundtrack for a show or movie

I want avant garde Gaga back at the Grammys! Atleast one win at a general category, and a memorable performance!

Among the general categories... i would really say Record of the Year has a big chance. 

For the other noms... i wish Harlequin would also win a Grammy! I just want it labeled as a Grammy winning album.

This is really exciting...so what time exactly in US Eastern time is the noms announcement?
