Ladle Ghoulash 28,431
For anyone saying PC isn’t rock enough, MASSEDUCTION by St. Vincent literally won best rock song at the Grammy’s in 2018 We have forgotten our public MANNERS 1
Rahrahbitchson 21,157
I predict a win in the Best New Artist category Also i could see Blade of Grass snatching both SOTY and ROTY tbh my only concern is that Shadow of a Man has a high chance of winning these two categories as well Quizás bastaba respirar, sólo respirar, muy lento...💙

I’m personally on the fence about the PC categories but if songs like this have made it in the past then PC has a decent shot maybe! It would be insanely cool

But St Vincent is an artist well respected and known in the rock field. Remember Gaga submitted an album track with 300 other listings in a a ballot with randomized order for each voter competing attention with big rock voters. So far Gaga's grammy love came from Pop and Dance voters. It's, so far, unlikely that people who vote in rock are even aware Gaga submitted a song there, specially when PC made no noise. But if it happens, great! Proves Gaga has likability with many genres in the academy. Also OP: your predictions are very reasonable and mostly agree. Just gonna point that SOTY is just as likely as ROTY. Voters aren't shy to namecheck a pop hit they like who made impact in the year in both GF categories, theyre not THAT inspired. We tend to discredit Abracadabra songwriting cause it's not a romantic ballad, but its song composition is actually genius. ((And before anyone say "b-b-but DWAS missed ROTY". Well that was a clear case of the song benefitting from alphabetical advantage for SOTY where its listed under D and in ROTY its listed under L for Gaga. Besides being a song that came too close to cut off and not made enough impact. This year there is no alphabet listing so it's probable voters will namecheck the artists they like in every category cause theyre too lazy to search. So it's great news for Gaga to be one of the biggest names in a very weak music cycle!
MaybeKermit 5,004
It’s super weird because TheShadeRoom posted the nominations last week? Maybe they leaked? Gaga and Kendrick have the most nominations
HeavyCapiLover 3,931
I can see her having 8-9 nominations the big 4 and pop / dance pop noms are pretty much on lock, we'll see if she gets the noms for Harlequin and Perfect Cuntybrity

It can be submitted (and nominated) if MAYHEM fails to win an album category (AOTY or Best Pop Vocal Album) and it (VIY) is released as a single during the current eligibility period. If MAYHEM wins an album category, the current version of VIY is ineligible for submission. A live or acoustic version could be released and submitted for performance categories (ROTY, Best Pop Solo Performance), but not songwriting categories (SOTY), similar to the way covers are treated (i.e., C2C/L4S submissions). Disease was the song they submitted over VIY in Pop - PC was submitted to the Rock categories. Both choices (Disease and VIY) would’ve had similar chances of being nominated IMO, but the category does tend to favor commercial performance in recent years, so going with the lead single that - despite not setting the Charts on fire - did debut in the top 40 and made top 20 on Pop Radio was the smarter pick. 20 hours ago, andy232000 said: I think it’s not eligible if Mayhem wins any album Grammy, either Pop Vocal Album or ATOY because the body of work is already “recognized”. She could only submit a new song as a single from a deluxe version or just a standalone single. For TDD it’s kinda interesting because the album that was sent this year was the standard edition, so technically TDD is eligible outside of the Song for Visual Media category I think TDD would be eligible for ROTY, SOTY, and Best Pop Solo Performance / Dance Recording. Both it and the “deluxe” / extended version of MAYHEM was released during this eligibility period. Songs from LANA by SZA were eligible this year, for example, despite SOS having won Best Progressive R&B Album last year. Whether it’s eligible for Visual Media is debatable since she’s talked about how it wasn’t originally written with the intention of being on Wednesday and I’m not sure it’s appeared on the actual soundtrack releases, has it? 11 hours ago, Ivy said: I really hope Harlequin gets a nom for album cover! I still don't understand not submitting VIY, I wonder if it could it be submitted in future if it's ever used in following years for a visual media? I can imagine it on a soundtrack for a show or movie The original recording would still be ineligible for any category if MAYHEM wins an album award this year. And, the original recording will never be eligible for a Visual Media award since it wasn’t written specifically for, and released with, any form of visual media.
JustJames 1,046
She’ll absolutely be nominated for AOTY, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Dance Recording. Since the removal of Blue Ribbon Panels in 2021, few albums nominated for BPVA (where MAYHEM is a frontrunner) have failed to make AOTY. ROTY + SOTY noms look safe, with outside chances at Best Pop Solo (field is quite weak) and BMV. BMV is selected by a jury which makes it difficult to predict, but they tend to include 2-3 big names, and Abra is certainly deserving. I think she could certainly walk away with 2 Grammys (BPVA and BPDR), which is fantastic, but anyone expecting more is setting themselves up for disappointment. Gaga’s never been able to garner 1) the full, unwavering support of the Pop voters, and 2) type of cross genre support needed to pull off a GF win, which is even harder now with 8 nominees, and that’s okay. 5 AOTY noms is an incredible achievement. Unfortunately, the Grammys were a lot more snobbish when she was at her peak, and now that they’ve been more likely to recognize pop in the GF, she’s at a point in her career where it’s harder to attain the blockbuster commercial numbers (Taylor, Sabrina, Billie) or critical acclaim (Charli, Lana).
