She had to be fired since she claims to be the main ‘wizard’ behind Gaga’s creative spirit. I read her book, and I think she’s borderline crazy. It’s all spiritual schlop about how she can pull out then craft the superstar in people and uses Gaga and Nicki Minaj as examples. I’ll admit she really did know how to find moves that match Gaga’s energy and skill level. The thing is Gaga’s team is honestly “old” in terms of know what’s emerging in the pop space. (Although that’s what makes Gaga unique, she’s technically her own space) Parris’s Goebell was the most viral and well known choreographer like in 2015 lol… Right now the viral dances are done by choreographers are Grant Gilmore (Katseye & Charli XCX), Sean Bankhead (Tate McRae, Katseye GAP Jeans Ad, Cardi B Up, Motivation by Normani). I feel like they would do better choreography with Gaga than Parris…

Edge of glory music video was ultimately detrimental to Gaga’s career and she had to go. The Edge Of Glory’s MV didn’t harm Gaga’s career in any way. If anything, Born This Way and Judas did

I remember multiple statements and interviews saying that Richy learned his toxic behavior from Laureanne and that she created a monster. Many mentioned that they were happy when she left and that she was toxic. I dont remember the details but yeah its been said multiple times even before the dancers went public with their allegations.

PartySick 163,402
No? She was a bad person. Parris does great work and she seems to be a sane and kind person. Total upgrade over both Laurienne and Richy. Blackout19 - "Free Woman sucks!"

However, more so than the specific music video, I think the disrespect and contempt shown by Laurieann after that debacle is what I believe showed she had to go. TEOG peaked at #3 and then charted for weeks in the Top 10 worldwide. It did very well-- could have been bigger with a stronger video (the one that Google teased) but if the video was going to be as controversial as the BTW video/Madonna comparisons, Satanic comparisons with Judas, etc. it would have tarnished her reputation even more. I would never tell Gaga to tone it down but a string of controversies can slowly chip away good public perception. Whitney was right about Gaga early on in her career-- there is nothing wrong with letting a good song and talent shine. Not everything needs to be laced with metaphor and craziness. I think Gaga understands this now, considering how refined her work, music, and performances are compared to her earlier work. It's still her but 10x more thoughtful.

27monster27 14,297
Do we know of she actually got fired? I always thought the decision to split had a lot of input from Laurieanne as well. Sloan revealed in her tell-all from February of this year that Laurieanne created the bad environment that lead to Richys own abuse. It's better that they stopped working together. he/him/his

I thought TEOG drama was between Gaga and the video director That's true, but there were then rumours that Laurieann Gibson directed the video, which she denied online (see tweet below), and I don't know if this is 100% true but I think it was suggested she wasn't happy with Gaga making the last minute changes to the video which led to Joseph Kahn stepping down as director...and that was essentially end of her involvement with Gaga. There was also a rumour that she was kicked off the set but not sure we'll ever know whether that was true or not. https://x.com/iamlaurieanng/status/81530754907111425 All of this led to the iconic 'listen u disrespectful fuk' tweet hahah (at the time, both her and Joseph Kahn were arguing on twitter with fans) https://x.com/iamlaurieanng/status/81241344344985601 Edited November 2 by Elizabeth
