Most of Harry's fans are young people who listen to the most mainstream pop imaginable and just fall into whatever sounds are cool and popular and they'll buy into a sound to be included, it's just how young people work. If Harry Styles is popping, they'll support him. And most of his fans are girls and girls tend to buy the music of male artists purely because they find them attractive, a concept I've never understood and I'm a woman myself. When boys find a female artist attractive, they'll watch her videos on mute and put a poster of her on their wall but that's it. Girls actually buy albums, merch, concert tickets, all because they find a male artist attractive. Do you really think the songs from Harry's House, a very alternative sound, would be embraced by trend-following young women if he were ugly? I'm not saying he's untalented, he has talent (just doesn't apply it the way I would like) and star power and seems like a nice guy but his music is just so pretentious and meh. My only reasoning as to why it's accepted so much is that he was quickly labelled the cute one from 1D and that sealed the deal. The cutest one always has the biggest solo career (Aaron Carter, Robbie Williams, Justin Timberlake, Joe/Nick Jonas, etc). The Fame Monster 4,433 Posted Tuesday at 06:22 AM Share Posted Tuesday at 06:22 AM I don’t like any albums by Charli XCX, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, One Direction, Imagine Dragons, Avicii, The Weeknd, Sia, Calvin Harris, Charlie Puth, Maroon 5, Kesha, Cardi B, Camila Cabello, Halsey, Florence + the Machine, Bad Bunny, Tate McRae, BTS, Blackpink, or Kim Petras. When it comes to Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, I only like one album from each (4 and Evermore). All their other albums just don’t do it for me. I used to love the early albums by Lana Del Rey (Born to Die, Paradise, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon) and Ellie Goulding (Lights, Bright Lights, Halcyon), but I’m not that into their newer stuff anymore. I like a song here and there from Adele, but I wouldn’t really say I like any of her albums — maybe 30, at most. Honestly, I find it hard to discover good music among modern artists, so I mostly listen to artists and bands who peaked in the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s.
