Hadrian 778
I love Chromatica, but I feel like it had its fat trimmed a bit too much, if that makes sense. you saw me a minute to midnight / those opals were brighter than daylight / you stopped me a minute from midnight

Probably her best lyrics from all of her albums, and honestly, the best visuals she’s ever had for an era. You're trolling We all know the production is empty and basic, approximately every single song has at least one terrible line lyrically (in the best case), and the visuals... up to one's taste I guess, they seam to be popular after all. But above The Fame Monster/Born This Way?
AddMeOnMYSPACE 2,054
All the hate it’s gotten needs to be aimed at ARTPOP her best production. Helped me during the COVID era when I was suffering from cabin fever. 1

Great that it helped you, but that's why you think it's that good, not the opposite Also ARTPOP gets a lot more hate than Traumatica Edited Thursday at 06:21 PM by AVeryGagaHolyDick
RAMROD 110,917
But how can it be wine, when Chromatica is champagne? (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ a thief in my head, you criminal (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡ 1
Ziggy 12,128
to me, it has one good song (911) and go figure it's a collab between her and madeon whom she clearly adores and is a song about exactly what she was experiencing at that time. It's far and away the most interesting song there. Everything else (aside from enigma which was cute, too) i recall feeling super disappointed by. i still listened to it a lot bc i wanted a gaga fix and liked the visuals a lot but yeah i dont want to revisit it like i do other gaga albums, even joanne (though i think that one now kinda ranks alongside chromatica as just fine, to me). It's obvious that 5ish year period was a VERY hard time for her based on those albums because they just lack the spark of real ingenuity with a few exceptions here and there (the ending of sine from above, for example) meanwhile her other albums are just loaded with fun moments where you can feel, despite subject matter, that she just loves making this music.

PartySick 162,357
It was the first Gaga album I was truly underwhelmed by. Alice was eh, Stupid Love and Rain on Me were good but we already knew that, then the abomination they turned Free Woman into really soured my mood. For the rest of the album I just kinda shook my head and thought "wtf is this ". Production wise, only Plastic Doll, Replay, and Sine are remotely good. Every other song is flat, even my favorite from the album (Enigma). It took ages and seeing TCB 3 times for me to warm up to even four or five of those tracks. I pray she never works with Bloodpop again. BUT. If Chromatica tracks were reworked into something that sounded less plug-n-play house music and more funk, rock, electronic, etc then I could so get down. It really was the terrible sound for me. You're stinky 4

The songwriting is generally really good and I think, with more interesting production, it could be one of her better albums fs. Hearing MAYHEM really helps me understand just how much they had to drag Gaga into the studio to make Chromatica (like she said they had to)
