They do this a lot. I get you may like it, and perhaps it’s always been better for you - but a lot of people in my life have these same issues. Just a few weeks ago I wanted to watch one of the Scream films and the original trilogy was nowhere to be found for weeks because the licensing was changing for Halloween time. Same with the Scary Movie films. Not to mention, they take away rights to films all the time - and they edit and censor things. I’d rather have physical media so I know I’m watching what the original film was supposed to be too. Streaming served its purpose, but like everything else in life, they had to ruin it with greed. 3
Hadrian 771
HBO MAX needs to stop playing hard to get because they're already hard to want. you saw me a minute to midnight / those opals were brighter than daylight / you stopped me a minute from midnight
ThisGuyTony 31,157
I’m cutting all my streaming services starting January 1, 2026. Does anyone know if there’s a fanmade physical release of The Chromatica Ball Film?

Yeah but yall comparing it to cable... how often would a movie u feel like whatching actuallt just so happen to be playing that week? I dunno. Sh*t is so expensive and unaffordable these days. To me streaming services feel like one of the very few things that actually feel like a good bang for the buck? Like my goodness eating out at a restaurant 1 time is literally $60 per person. Thats almost 3 streaming services right there for entire month

Thats almost 3 streaming services right there for entire month Streaming services aren't bad BUT all of them are doing the most to alienate their subscribers. Raising prices, removing catalogues of THEIR content (HBO Max literally had a time when they purged most of their shows, cartoons, and now basically there is no way to stream any of that content legally), adding ads etc..... I would be fine if the prices didn't go up every year. There is absolutely no reason to justify the price increase. I get we are living in tough times right now, but there is no reason it should cost more every year for me to watch a movie on a STREAMING PLATFORM. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
The Fame Monster 4,433
At this point, with prices climbing higher and higher, maybe it’s time we start reading books again and hanging out with friends instead of relying on streaming services to keep us entertained. We should all get ourselves a record player (if we don’t already have one), pick one Taylor Swift album variant, and actually stick with it, even if new ones keep dropping every week. Let’s stop streaming, start saving our money, and maybe even help the planet a little while we’re at it. Who’s in? Besides inflation i know the original prices were never sustainable to begin with. For example netflix burned thru a **** load of cash losses the first several years although its profitable now. HBO last year ran losses too btw. This is not a high profit margin industry like banking, healthcare or software services and theres no evidence they are price gouging consumers They wanted to win the race to gain subscribers and try to monopolize the market but the $12 a month streaming services started out at were never realistically gonna last or stay. I dunno, food prices bother me. Housing costs bother me, the crazy surge of restaurants or clothing botger me... Streaming tho? Prices seems reasonable to me still and its not on my list of things that bother me But everyones entitled to an opinion and how they feel
